Stray Cat (Pastoral Poetry WS)

I used to befriend a stray cat
who was abandoned by his master
His once white fur has turned filthy
from his many adventures

My heart longed to keep him
but my parents won't allow it
so all I do is play with him
whenever I can make it

At times I fed him,
just to watch him eat
there's some happiness
in doing a good deed

Then a day came
that made me cry
I found him hurting
from the acts so vile

The busy city street, the quiet country lane
I know which one of these that I would choose
only one conveys me away from cluttered pain
so watch me as I don my walking shoes

As busy buildings fade with each unforced tread
and the raucous noise becomes a freeform mantra
I slowly lose my constant source of dread
and all the world becomes my growing tantra.

Pollonated and Picked... ( or Pap )

Pollinated and Picked… (or Pap)

It’s not just that I’m a Bee,
that gives my life a bit of
buzz. But being a Bee is me,
so you being a being and
being here once suited all of us.

I’m buzzing about here being my
planet, and sharing this planet’s
space with an all seeing human being.
I pollinate he or she picks it’s one of
life’s little tricks, he and she being
the beings all seeing.

Twisted stone

twisted stone
towers
arch like
broken backs
across a
brown-green sky

they are
monumental recognitions
of my tired,
worn,
long
nights
of waiting for the sun

the river runs red

while through the window
acrid smoke
spews and leeks
from hunks
of twisted steel
leering,
smirking
with 12 watt
halogen eyes
and burnt rubber
legs

yet i see
past

thorn of rose

your poem reminds me of
the rose that I once was

who ever tried to prick me wrongly
I pushed ahead my thorn

whosoever loved me
I lay bare all with which I was born

my petals
no resistance
till another rose like me was born

The guys went forlorn
as many came over to my fertilizing lawn..
when many more colourful roses were born
morn after morn

sad so many continued to be torn
mans world they say
why were you a gal born?

COVER ME

All imperfections are camouflaged
with the snow so pure and white
which softened all the hard edged corners
when it fell to earth last night.

And I am but a rough hewed man,
a fact which all around me know
who needs a gentle soul like you
to
.....be
.................My
..........................snow.

Resting my iambic feet

while cruising through the tunnel of dead
at lightning speed but not in haste
before reaching the point I dread
I thought of taking a much needed rest

because it was a sort of final chance
to get my sonnet rhyming rhythmic right
I paused to take an appreciative glance
before moving from the darkness to light

quick read in for delete== 1.5 years old Nature spoke

Nature seeks

Just go back a couple of years ...say what was the population during the...
Time of Buddha & Christ and thereafter
Twenty apple trees could perhaps feed the lot......
Today we have 100 guys/gals/folks
visiting the wash rooms per hour,
so compare their human waste
why try only in haste
but try and population make chaste

procreate less if you will
enjoy sex which you must
but then educate yourself too
pollution will as of now continue

Undemocratic Glare Looks Yonder... (ok then, ugly)

Undemocratic Glare Looks Yonder….
( ok then - ugly)

This is number ten donation street,
on Britain’s benefit to rich people square.
Where men of greed so often meet,
hidden, from democracy’s glare.

A street where all our billions flow,
to men of wealth, title or influence.
Blown to foreign accounts like snow,
without worry or mere consequence.

People on this street always blame,
shirkers for taking our cash.
But their chums have no shame,
they’ve just got a bigger stash.

through stony rooftops

through stony rooftops
brazen windows
and heavy doors
the stars don’t shine

yet still we sit
laughing
as we lift to our lips
a dangerous cocktail
of greed, boredom
and ageing whiskey

it runs cooly
over our twisted tongues
my breathing
covers the walls

and i stagger
stagger, through a labyrinth
of wire hedges
barbs ripping open
any chance
of feeling alive

ha! how naïve
