TEACHER/STUDENT

They stare at him as he stands there
and try absorbing what he might say.
Their questions range 'most everywhere.
so HE becomes the one who learns today.

The Extra's Reading

Explaining to her that
I was only a double
and could appear anywhere,
she suggested I sleep
a few nights in her temple;
airless, disused, peopled
with gravitationalists handfasting.
She wore a smock
tattooed with hookahs
and a God's illegible
face. Placing a stained
glass card in my palm,
I wept St. Bernard out,
I wept thorns out and sewed
each into a heart. With hideous
cries of pity, she put me
in the city river,
peeling coins over my eyes.

My Last Prayer

Lord, don't let me die on the toilet,
I would much rather die on a bus.

As the thought of me sat with my pants down,
drives me mad just to think of the fuss.

But the thought of me off while I'm sleeping,
seems a much more acceptable plan.

Though I'll have to start wearing pajamas
and be a much more respectable man.

The Owl's Foe

What can I say to all the owls
Have lingered nights in shadows; yet
Have slept a wink at common hours
And woken when the day has set

Arouse the night-birds and his peers
For darkness ain't but friends with sleep!
And soon the sun will wake the day
And all be up, but you, asleep!

What can i say to all the owls
Who hoot and cry the whole night through
"Arouse! Arise! You sleepy things
For darkness is a foe with you!"

Where Commas Lie

A Relieving Sigh

no more pangs of love
nor wanderlust, enough,
sitting here alone
...............................

You Should Go

vague in the distance
calliopes beckon, clowns
gathering in herds

...............................

Patient: Young Grasshopper

a crippling deluge
the grass is prone, to locusts,
water-slide landings
................................

Coincidence or karma?

The Portrait (July Contest)

A little peck on the cheeks spell
blends colorful thoughts in my way
Carmine red attacks the purple
A rainbow then floods my entrée.

A scope of emotions springs when
A little peck on the cheeks spell
Enriches lust and deep champagne
Then each petal speaks to the belle.

The sun seem very angry.
The sky shed tears so bloody.
The storm blows its tides so scary.
The soil is grief-sticky.

Cries & wails from far & near.
People living in pangs of fear
As the vision of the future become blur & unclear.
Making snares of death uneath to steer clear.

Landscape O Mine ... 1000 WORDS POETRY CONTEST

Landscape O Mine

I'm now no more
but a mere shadow
on the screen of time's memory
many still come to my gallery
I see

some smile
some look at me in awe
the landscape is a sure memory
of that cloudy evening
dark,
yet so wonderfully
brought the distant
silhouette
'twas a real sight
I painted it all day
and
all that night
can you evaluate
my anxiety

Housewife

severed flesh, in blood we trust
cat 'o nine tails ripping meat
scalpel carving naked sinner
dinner for our soul to eat

tow rope stretching out a neck
iron maiden spiking prey
shards of glass shoved up an ass
oh, it's been a bitchin' day!

draw and quarter, slash and burn
nothing ventured, nothing gained
rape upon a torture rack
seems a tad bit unrestrained
