Lost Love

By: Alex Tanner

Should I recall those blissful times
When we like climbing flowers entwined;
Our blossoms scented evenings air
As Love and Lust forsook our cares.

Your laugh was soft and gentle,
A butterflies wings in spring,
Dancing on the sunbeams
Enough to make me sing.

Eyes so bright they sparkled
Diamonds on moonlit snow;
Flashing hither and thither
To make my pulse race so.

We held each other gentle
Yet tight so not to break,
Though deep, our love could never last,
Different paths our lives would take.

For fleeting months we tarried,
Each time we met we knew
This may be the last time
For lovers hours are few.

If I love ten thousand women
Tis you I will recall;
You gave yourself so willing,
For your passion I did fall.

On black nights as the wind howls,
As I lie in a bed so cold,
Your soft voice echoes 'cross the years
To warm my lonely soul.

Alley Echoes (my kind of love poem)

I met this chick
she was hot
we hit it off pretty good
right from the start

we fucked a lot
she made me laugh
I made her giggle
she kissed good too

then she did something I didn't like
or was it me doing something
she didn't like
can't quite remember
but that's how it ended

It made me sad

Rye Eyes

Vodka made me cheery
but the whiskey made me
mean
Back then I was grooving
I was thin
and I was lean
Hanging on the telephone
sitting in the chair
glad to get out make
the moves and
Blow the stink out from
the lair

She was lavendar and
honey she was darkness
of the scene
she was crooked
and quite broken
but I Loved her
what she'd seen

Dirgibles of egos
lowriders of pizzaz
dressed in the knock
off outfits very clean with
much of crass

Angelic Footprints

Angelic Footprints

Rakuen

Under the vast expanse
of the firmament,
the lilies of the valley
flutter in the wind.

There you sigh
While feeling the warmth
of the gentle sun.

The water trickles
and trees dance.
The reeds play their tune;
the birds sing.

You are there
having pleasure as you listen
to such glorious symphony.

The warm afternoon
casts a sleepy spell upon you.

Tag along with time

As we walk over the bridge of time...
Never look back
The bells shall chime

Gone with the wind
back in the tunnel of time
the humans will never ensign
the gone time

So look forward only
and
you will see
the year in full bloom
is now no more

Another one is born
and
you have to carry along

Have the nectar of youth
and
love
the year ahead is knocking
at the thresh-hold of time

Stitche on the stretch

Sandbag blues
callouses and sunburnt skin
everything was faded and green
part of the big machine
My brother with his placard kin
One of us went
my father to the big one
Die a Hero
be a zero
I grinned reading the air mail
(after chaplain charley blessed my mattel rifle)
forget the hydro
we burned candles
inscence lsd and weed
got a free night
but fuck..wouldncha know
we got hauled out
ten klick patrol into Charley Land
pulling every able dick

Yonder

Yonder
Leaves fall
Underneath the autumn veil.

Yonder
Rain pitter-patters
Over the sea of rice.

Yonder
Petals drop
Burying the earth.

Yonder
Snow caps
The mountain.

Yonder
I haply think
Of a flowing stream.

Yonder
Perchance I remember
The coolness of my feet
As I wadded in the water.

Such memory
Begets a sigh.

Yonder
I secretly wish
To be back
Where time is constant.
Yonder
I long to be.

sojourn of life

Train sojourn
You are here the poet of all times
light a candle darkness vanishes
keep moving about the train
your body is in equal equation
you become
a part of it in harmonic motion
and
then you can see
the blades of grass smiling

as the wind brushes thy face
on the moving train
your hair, if you have any
I have very little of it,
makes you feel the touch of glory
as the sojourn moves on
ere the end when comes the dawn
and you mourn
why did it have to dawn?
