Paper Lanterns

flower petals
soft as velvet
caress this soul

paper lanterns
mystic as ancient scripts
entice these thoughts

cobbled streets
old as gold
form this physique

emerald eyes
deep as sleep
captivate these emotions

poems fly within this mind,
as paper lanterns in the starry night sky.

Dawn breaks over marble head...

The logic of paper lanterns being
as mystic as ancient scripts
I find difficult to see.

A strange metaphor comes from this
that I don't understand.

paper lanterns
carrying mystic scripts...!
mysterious as

The cobbled verse I don't get.

I am being honest about what I feel,
but there can be others that find this dead right,
so....? I shall be interested to see what others think.

Skaal Nordic cloud.

"The image of yourself which you see in a mirror Is dead,
but the reflection of the moon on water, lives." Kenzan.

Paper lanterns, chinese ones once lit fly into the air, the ancient scripts because in china they carry messages. The cobbled streets, mean europe... the streets of europe...im from european descent and i live in Asia..and paper lanterns for me are as mysterious as ancient scripts, because they give light, insights as do ancient scriptures..tao.etc...

Peace love and harmony light the path we must take. - MDT

By not getting the meaning from the poem I didn't understand as I should, what you here tell me I do know, but its nice to hear from you, it was within the poem that I thought the words didn't quite describe what YOU wanted them to describe. If you get that conundrum!

Magical lanterns
float through the sky
of my mind.

Nordic cloud.

"The image of yourself which you see in a mirror Is dead,
but the reflection of the moon on water, lives." Kenzan.

This is a magical poem...

emerald eyes
deep as sleep
captivate these emotions

poems fly within this mind,
as paper lanterns in the starry night sky.

love it!

always, Cat
