I Love Her

I love her like a summers day loves a peach,
no,
like a medieval peasent loves a leech?
no, very no.

maybe like a wood stove loves a water pot that leans
upon its hot surface,
like dry air in a house loves steam,
like writers love themes.
no, but close.

so then, do I maybe love her like a log loves salamanders?
loves protects but never commanders, yet presides over,
sits upon...
still no.

maybe I love her like a writer who is too afraid of sentimentality
who looks for meaning in luke warm tea
and crums of cracker on the table
one whos heart is too afraid to show its glee, but oh,
when she appears
all the fickle fears rush out and slip away
and all the pent up glee flies out like
grey could not exist in that moment

I love her in a way that only the devine could foment
like angels must love being in the presence of god
with the excitement of someone finding treasure with a dowager's rod
I lover her like a door loves a key,
and like a sick person loves surgery
I love her to the level of every day's most quiet need,
and like a cowgirl loves her steed,
like love is all I will ever need
no

most truely I think I love her in a way that cannot be described
except I know that without her
I would probably want to die

yes, you love her!!! and it is indescribable...but you come very, very close! my favorite lines are:

one whos heart is too afraid to show its glee, but oh,
when she appears
all the fickle fears rush out and slip away
and all the pent up glee flies out like
grey could not exist in that moment

to have someone so full of love! You write like I feel at times, with a feel for the littlest things. I wonder at those who do not see
the minor miracles of life. Those that pass by a bird's nest in Springtime and do not hear the chirrup of baby birds or think of the cats lying in their path as an inconvenience. [indoors or out]. You have done a fine job of helping me understand your love for Her. She must be special! My only criticism is that you have some typos that need correcting.
1] commanders
2] presence
3] surgery
You made my morning with this piece! ~ Geez.
.

It seems that the days and hours that people
are available for chatroom are staggered and
not a good match for most everyone. How about
if everyone just shows up at the door, whenever
they have a few free minutes?

Ill have to go and change those typeos. This is very encouraging. Your love poems really inspire me ,and cause me to want to write about love more. Its like your passion is contagious

I'm glad that you are encouraged! I don't write romantic or love poems very often, but I sometimes get the notion that I need a change. I write about passionate things, like people who are attracted to each other, but for some reason, cannot be together. I like the type of situations that go against all odds. It seems that the more that things and people are against it, the more people are passionate about getting together. That inspires me. ~ Geezer.

you have loved her the way you wanted to
but I'D LOVE HER
the way two virgin lovers do
you did hopefully
you are a musician full of glee
unlike me
I love only lovelies
believe me

This rocks. I love her loveliness, but not in a very virginal way
