An hour of happiness .....Jess missed hence Edit

An hour of happiness

I still spend an hour with you
at the shore
where we met first
that’s for sure

till today each day
I spend an hour with you
as if 'twas just yesterday
now though more than
many decades away

what kind of love
the modern world can show
I wish to know
when we part for ever
for good
who would love
the way I could

today is that day
this never came
I waited for you all the same
but my love hasn’t dwindled a bit,

w h i p p e t

contour
the delicate
shade

framed these shells
I walk rigid with
works
thrust in pockets delay

feirce hot ciccada days
rushing past the hours
free

a turmoils embrace
twisted like a bone healed

cigarettes haze
sleek past restless
souls

the burial envy
of brutalities work
dripping embers

egos anvil

Democritus unzipped

When grace precedes the sword, shall we learn?

When a poet and prelate and beautiful kin,

learn to lead a nation through adversity

still, shall we learn?

How easy it is to succumb to old pleasures:

the two party seesaw pitches and yawns

the old messengers alight

at conferences from buses

to thunderous applause.

The choice? Two oppressors benign

and brilliant, on message

We all resign and,

tender our forgiveness, four yearly

or there abouts.

X may mark the spot, but

WINGS

WINGS

Where are the wings you promised me
where is is the wind that will carry me
to the stars

where is the womb that will hold me
where are the voices that will lead me
far
into the light

Million Dollar Earth..

Million Dollar Earth….

Let us not worry about our immanent
extinction, when pinning the medals
on the pedlars of power.
Only remembering they served the banks
with distinction, cometh the cash cometh
their shiny new tower.

They sold their warring inventions all over
Earth, coining it in quicker than a million
dollar Las Vegas slot machine.
Having lived in the delusion of grandeur
from birth, accepting credit card, cheque or
cash, with the allusion to illusion that being
moneyed was clean.

The Best of Friends, From Magma to Ava

trust. that's the first thing.
the hands you could put your life into,
that's a true friend
always there, always willing
and she never can say anything
without making you laugh at some point.

serious, immature, strong, vulnerable,
she's just a walking contradiction,
isn't she?
we weren't supposed to talk about things
that would get us slapped
so I told her I was scared
five,
this time

this time.

Empty Frames

Memories not preserved
Skeletons without tendons.

And when time is reversed.
From the beginning,
We can tell the ending.

For there's nothing
To look forward to
In the future
Of a past that was never there.

Memories not preserved
Bones without flesh.

Memories not formed.
Can never be rehearsed.
It is never old,it is never fresh.

For it was never made
It never met time.

So we stare at nothing
Looking past forgotten oblivions
Looking right
Into empty frames.

S T O R E Y R U S H

tinge
these phantom tremor
rushed from the dark
an aperature door

apex a harsh crouch
like shattered love
the shards
bright tears
sharpening

falling

cascades the stilled
allusion

phantomes

and numbers bound
sequential chains
between the thin
shroud of touch
whispering
their gravitus

Laugh Out Loud

Laugh out loud with me
Not just any kind of laugh
Laugh out loud hard, please

The kind of laugh you cry from
Where your face smiles
So very hard you're done

You grab your tummy
Cause it feels so good inside
It's just that funny

Laugh till you can't stand up straight
Until your knees buckle
This is a laughing hard fate

Rolling on the floor
Where this laughter takes you
Laughing from your core

Do I Dare?

Do I Dare?

All that would require
Is an unbending desire
To walk out of that bloody door.

But where would you go?
Fear and doubt in a conspiracy,
Whispering abort plans and mutiny,
My dreams now dashed below.

Don’t listen to them!
Hope surging past both,
Go couch surfing at a mates,
Find a-few flats at good rate,
Be gone before I deflate!

Once again I soar past my prison cell,
The happiness tangible and real,
The unbending desire resolute,
I put forward my first foot.
