Happiness ala virus kindness Judy edit

Happiness
like a virus
comes and goes
how it comes
and
where it goes
no one yet knows

Billions of dollars
down the drain go
as they all want to sow
the virus of happiness
plenty more to grow

But still scientists,
doctors
do not yet know
how come

cold cures in a week
with medicine
and in seven days
it goes
without.......

A Message To A Friend (An Elizabethan Sonnet)

When life is stained with shades of grim and grey,
you find yourself, a wreck, engulfed in pain.
It chokes your voice and claims you as its prey,
the tears of rage you cry will pour like rain.

You try to crawl away to free your heart,
the one that time has ravaged , stretched a mile.
As all your hopes and dreams are torn apart,
your soul's defeat has left a taste so vile.

spindle

wild weave the way
clutch my hand
dare we plunge
through dark
to chase the light

the madness of
masks revealing
sweet smiles
and ravenous
snarls

in the thin blade
of a thing hour
we stumble

and for a moment
our contact
lost
you find the
apple
lain in wait
and binge

now starry eyed
forever lay
the darkness
claiming
its stay

and the light
the hell
of lonliness

did you look
back
betrayed?

Waking Up To Life

No matter the weather
Robin sings
Rain or shine, wind or ice
it's as if he thinks he's in paradise.

He's the most jubilant
little bird
summer, winter or spring
'cos he always seems to be twittering.

Even when the earth quakes
he's happy
night, dusk, morning and noon
he's chirpy with glee and warbles his tune.

So thanks little robin
for your heart
bold, courageous and strong
and for giving us joy with your sweet song.

The Doors Of My Mind February contest

One, two, three and four.
Look at all the doors!
Some hanging from the ceiling,
some screwed onto the floor.
Swinging open and shut,
like a two by four.

Which one shall I choose,
memories of the past?
Tearing open old wounds,
reminiscing about love
that didn't last?
Cut off by the slamming of the door!

What about the one
filled with things that
need to be forgotten?
Too many emotions,
not hardly for the downtrodden.
Would someone shut that door?!

Many Doors To Open (Feb. Contest)

She knocked at many doors of opportunity
But none would open to her in her lifetime
She hustled day and night with all her might
Making sales here and there with her creativity.

She ran the streets in her high heels
Looking for love in all the wrong men
The door to true love just wouldn't open
Her boobs and booty is what appeals.

She got lucky this Valentine's Day
Two weeks of romance and some fudge
Then she opened the door to motherhood
A door she opened to Mother's Day.

Cold minus forty

Cold minus forty

If cold alone was to be an enemy
then what would we do
with those who really are?

scorpions as found on airplanes
where every ant is screened,
yet scorpions go clean
no blood
no X-ray can come in an arachnid’s way
but from Scorpios friends
do try to stay away
can you?
or else remember me some day
how Scorps can you way lay
but for your kind souls
I may still pray...

In and Out... Feb. contest

Some doors will open and some doors will close
Be careful, most careful, they may close on your nose
Not that I couldn't stand to lose just a bit
There are days that it's rubbed deep in the shit

The door to my heart, some have unlocked
There are doors to my secrets, you might be shocked
Behind those closed doors, I keep who I am
There stuff is piled up against the jamb

INTO THE DEPTHS

INTO THE DEPTHS

I sink to depths without measure
and my thoughts sicken my soul.
My heart speaks the unspeakable
and my mind sees what is before me.
I don't understand the deep sadness of loss
that lingers a lifetime and the pain
of one's own dying,
I don't understand Death's silence
and the sudden and cruel disconnect
with those we love.
And I will never understand the suffering
that Life brings,

The Safety Door (Feb. contest)

He crushed one last fearful thought
and pushed open the dreaded door
Onward into the lion’s den
tingles shattering his body core
Not a moment less
Not a moment more

Each of which held a promise
A dark fearful proposal
He clenched his keys
with a well meant fist
clenched them, until his hand was sore
Not a moment less
Not a moment more
