I Weep, Because I Cannot Weep

I weep
because I cannot weep.
I weep
because I've locked myself
in a prison of extravagance.

On mornings like this,
a beautiful day
seems like a cruel joke.
I weep because I am wealthy,
and my wealth mocks me.

I considered the carpenter bees
that flit and land
on Solomon's Seal.
I considered my old fear of them,
turned now to admiration
at how diligent and precise they were,
flying from flower to flower,
one evicting an ant
who also worked,
diligently.

And I sighed.

For the dragonfly is my sigil,
and the butterfly my mate,
and I killed off the former, years ago
in a brutal misunderstanding.

I weep,
because I have nowhere left to weep.

People talk about second acts and second chances,
but can a man do that when the dirt's already been poured
and the ashes already spread?

One night I was comforted by a star
shooting south to north
in the eastern sky.
I took solace in this for a moment,
until I remembered that shooting stars
merely crash and burn,
and I stopped deluding myself.

I weep,
because I am not permitted to weep.
And my weeping is rebellion.

What did you think of my title?
How was my language use?
What did you think of the rhythm or pattern or pacing?
How does this theme appeal to you?
How was the beginning/ending of the poem?
Is the internal logic consistent?

I have no criminal record
but i have criminal friends
and people of high rank
of a worldwide organization
because I am bright
i have never been banned
from anything
yet I have a voice
helped clear away the trash
and rubble of systems
it was all business
nothing personal

the personal is passionate
filled with a love and a hate
why people lash out at others
who are jealous of their
beauty..kindness zest
and flair
we cannot steal it from
them so sometimes
it happens that inevitabley
in passion or plan
we destroy the very
nature of that which we
percieve to be part of
us...
a part that we cannot
control nor ever own
we take the sin of
man to the grave
and are judged socially
judicially or if gotten
away with it by our
conscience if we
have one..Some people
are wired different
and do not have one
they are easy to spot
they have no control
on what comes out of
their mouths
and thus end up
in a cage or being
banned...or they are
sloppy...too filled with
the blindness of passion
and make mistakes

I know many who killed
defense...passion
under the influence
Why people who are
addicted to drugs and
alcohol and take it out
on others via writing
or physically are a threat
why they must be monitored
the risk too great to not
keep an eye on them

otherwise if we just let
it go on...the whole integrity
and beauty of our world
and its little systems
would be infected with
their sickness

doing time for a crime
is honourable and the
correct thing
Karma I still equally
believe in
and I have seen people
who have wronged
have spells casted on
them and saw the
results of such things
It is very heavy in our
culture....and others..
and I an not a sceptic
but a healthy respect
for all things...

I know of many in
the forensic ward
who have taken lives
under watch.control
and having done their
time they are allowed
freedom downtown
but we all know them
the street poeple talk
and keep an eye on
them....in this regard
we are our brothers
and sisters keeper

we are born of sin
and thus must
pay for the wages
of sin...

but for those who
are human and
share the feelings
of al aspects of
humanity via poetry
at least this if a form
of repayment

democratic countries
allow a life to be spared
humans always run
each other down
belittle thing
say..fuck this fuck that.
sad..
when we can be a better
society...

your poem speaks of
truths
and expression of
experience

thank U for this
work...Your poem
is writtenclearly
and well..
