Lost Love

By: Alex Tanner

Should I recall those blissful times
When we like climbing flowers entwined;
Our blossoms scented evenings air
As Love and Lust forsook our cares.

Your laugh was soft and gentle,
A butterflies wings in spring,
Dancing on the sunbeams
Enough to make me sing.

Eyes so bright they sparkled
Diamonds on moonlit snow;
Flashing hither and thither
To make my pulse race so.

We held each other gentle
Yet tight so not to break,
Though deep, our love could never last,
Different paths our lives would take.

For fleeting months we tarried,
Each time we met we knew
This may be the last time
For lovers hours are few.

If I love ten thousand women
Tis you I will recall;
You gave yourself so willing,
For your passion I did fall.

On black nights as the wind howls,
As I lie in a bed so cold,
Your soft voice echoes 'cross the years
To warm my lonely soul.

Happy birthday dear Aquarians wef 21 Jan all years ..

A very Happy Birthday
to all AQUARIANS

Beauty rebounds in your folds
you are soft and sweet too
so many love you
but you must take care of flatterers
who try to woo you...
ere you fall too

but since 'tis your birthday today
in the light of sun may you stay..
have a Happy Birthday
and bathe also today..

the beaches are warm still
they beckon you in bikinis,
if you only will...
Happy Birthday
to all
AQUARIANS
today

touchstone

to talk of
changing winds
shattered dreams
is trite
cliché

clumsy of the reality

naivety unperceiving how
the dark is hidden deep within
the light of
childhood kingdoms
awaiting Azrael
to steal innocence
.

Fairground attraction

Children, a roller-coaster
High above ground
Why do they go to fairgrounds
Why send them?
Is it the death wish
they scream overhead?
catapulted in and out of space
snapping like rubber bands
Out and in, in and out
Death held in hands
gripping the bars of the
gilded temporary prison
from which they wish to be ejected
yet hanging on for dear life
Wishing to live but asking
never more to return
until they slow down
to land on terra firma.
Will they be
in one piece or more?

Beauty Sleep

Beauty Sleep

I sat watching shadows outside my window
Thrown through the trees by golden lamps
Those that clung to the Earth from the Moon
Breezes drifted them all to and fro as the Ocean

Too warm to sleep, I let dream time come and go.
Each patch, casting a memory into fleeting spaces
Drifting so, I rested into your gentle feelings.
Shadows out there,a tilt, the flick of your hair

The Silence of Solstice

In the dark, cold air of Winter
the shadows play games for so long,

each breath of air so sufficiently crisp
can freeze the words to Winter's, cold song.

This chilly breath escapes the season's
lips, when Solstice is here;

and the season exhales a meloncholy
that whispers in every ear;

which reminds us that another one
has joined the others, as did the last;

the season's chill cannot keep still
until the year officially enters the past.

Memories

Memories form a cascade of magical treats
pooling as years around our feet
each one in danger of drowning in the mundane
secreted somewhere deep in our brain
fading in time
written in rhyme
hidden 'til we stop to reminisce
our little gems of happiness
treasure them always
there the good old days
remembrance of times past
a joy that lasts and lasts

warning

swings and dodgems, children's' slides
brightly painted waltzing rides
one minute I embrace the sky!
the next I scream that I will drown
as we plunge -
down!
so be careful where you take me, love
candy floss and rubber snakes
false jewels and coloured paste
roundabouts can nauseate
and I would rather find my place
feet firmly -

on the ground

Judas Kiss

everything you’ve said
 whispers round to me
   here now I sit
    this warning is free
dead are my dreams
 in your pretense of care
  sweeping the misery
    as you reek of despair
A fair weather friend
 in the mirror narcissus
  your lies pave roads
   a consummate actress
I have begun to believe
 ricin flows in your veins
  everything you touch
   weeps of black stains
all poison you leach
 flows right back to me
  and as I found out
   I raged disbelief
a roaring rant

lovely pragmatic ramble

all pain ought to be forgotten
once life has been milked fully,
birth and death are two faces of the same coin
one can't exist without the other...

so smile as you cast off the pain
and take leave of mankind,
let others not grieve as you fly into the wilderness
let them too celebrate your having walked this way,
some day we too shall fly away....

.....E...S....S....E....N....C.....E......

Rain is speaking
beneath the sky
a paper roams
indifferent filling dark
eyes on font

subtle soft like chalk

a dampness clinging
full of illusions

the pains of growth
healed and broken

I remember our river
chilled with the spring
the slush flowing swift
like blossoms of winter

gardens of lush
knowing

I remember the summers
we put away the love
in sacred places
treasured however

soiled with rain
and swept sweet
with light
