The Neopoet Administrative Council and Trustees announces the formation of the Cabinet. This body will work closely with the AC and the Trustees. The AC will continue focusing on policy, on approving new Advocates, and managing disputes between members, and will continue to have final authority in those areas, even in the event a dispute involves a Cabinet member. The Cabinet will be focused on day-day management of volunteer positions, such as the Guides and Workshop programs, on managing our social media program, and when relaunched, on our chat program.

It is with great pleasure to announce that the following individuals have been chosen to represent Neopoet in the Cabinet:

Jonathon (pugilist) as the chair of the Cabinet
Paul as co-chair of the Cabinet
Mark as secretary to the Cabinet
Jess (weirdelf) as our Workshop Coordinator
Guy (Geezer) as our Community Outreach Director
Tonya as our Social Media Expert

Please help us in congratulating these individuals who represent the ideals, values, and strengths that we believe will move Neopoet into the future.

Waterloo's an historic battlefield, c'est vrai,
Quite near to Brussels (or one of its alternative spellings
in the gorgeously flat land of the Belgians
and also where the sprouts come from, which are,
as well you know, an exciting cause of gas expelled per anum).

Communique Frozen.....

Communique Frozen...

Telephone lines covered in ice,
communications all frozen out.
People twittering, some not nice,
presidential hair lip starts to pout.

An election in the offing, poor show,
so many hours spent doting or voting.
Do we really need stupidity tied in a bow,
then five misspent years simply gloating.

These the candidates our very own,
nothing but the best in town or not.
Fretting, betting all deeds are sown,
goons to make sure they’re hot to trot.

Come tomorrow .... (January contest)

Yesteryear, now all we own,
The year has newly turned;
The months, the seasons, now outgrown,
Are cast aside and burned.

Auld Lang Syne and midnight handshakes
Wave a fond farewell;
Icicles and frosty snowflakes
Cast their wintry spell.

But midnight is the witching hour
Anno domini;
As it strikes it holds the power
To bid our year goodbye.

Reflections on the days, bygone,
Can permeate the mind;
Nostalgia, driven on and on,
Melancholy of a kind.

Happy New Year Poem

Happy New year
it's twenty twenty
a year of forty four..

another decade of life
to bring things alive
another world to vibe..

it's not who you are
it's who you create
in a era never known..

many years of barbarianism
the darkness ruled
now light is winning..

a new way of thinking
there is war no more
peace to the earth..

love and compassion
found the one percent...

Chasing Stars...

An idea pulses brightly and I try desperately
to catch it before it fades away
It's as though it is a shooting star
racing away over the horizon

Sometimes, a thought is one of many
like in a meteor shower and it follows the rest of them
across the sky and disappears into the void of forgetfulness
while you are still separating it from the herd

Satan's riddle (December contest)

As I was out, about, one day
I met the strangest man;
We talked of things, of wax and kings
As he, his tale, began.

He said he was a carpenter
But looked so fine and grand,
Sporting walrus whiskers
And walking cane to hand.

He told me of his lifetime,
Five hundred years or more;
He said that I knew nothing,
I was wasted heretofore

He said he'd speak a riddle
Before he'd by your leave,
I'd never glean the answer
Just so long as I may breath.

To My Dead Love

Where is my body?

Where has it gone?

I can’t sing the tune

Cuz I don’t know the song

Otherwise known as an invitation to divulge secrets.

Secrets of your heart and your mind that may or may not be exposed, depending on the smile when your first walk in.

An offer to exchange thoughts

Thoughts that perk your mind to an accelerated pace, one that doesn’t stop until told too.

The basis of life.

Life that is ours to share, ours to grow, to fail, to feel… and to wonder, “what could possibly be better”.

Will you grab a drink with me?

Bottle -Up -2020 (NEW TREND POEM)

Be ready
to fill old wine
in newer plastic bottles

as New Year is pushing forth
through the labyrinth of sorts
(you may say Time)
to emerge from its cocoon

when 2020 does finally arrive
treat it as a boon

another year to play
one yearer’s match
so soon

return my Good wishes

I want to go, somewhere;
I want to take a journey,
make a move,
to a place, a place deep,
But where?

Where could this place be
that I must go?
That I must forgo all else to go; this place,
for what it's worth,
I think I must surely go.
But again, where could this place be?
