just a dream

Evening
the day after,
mascara on the sheets
tissues on the floor
a Tumbler on its side

Aching limbs
tortured eyes
a mouth that
cannot smile

It wasn't real
Just a horrible dream
and these tears ?
I think
I have something
In my eye

it's called the new year. Doctor Jess recommends blinking a lot, lots of water and avoid recriminations. After all, NYE is 52 Fridays rolled into one, it is desperate and insincere, clarity comes later.

This was my first NYD I had to get up and go to work, it felt good.

Totally relate to the poem.

cheers,
Jess

The great, emotional release of poetry: saves so much angst, writing it down, feeling the weight of the words and encapsulating the moment. Big hug, and gentleness.

There is nothing more cleansing than writing it out thanks for the read hugs n love

Dreams, ah dreams, they can unsettle,
and fill the eyes with images that smart.
its only the brain that makes the art,
and you have done your part.

but the reflection of the moon on water, lives." Kenzan.

Dearest I wish it was just a dream
Thank you for your words

I felt unfulfilled. Any more? Giving us the news? Or perhaps better not to know?

There is more another poem
I hope it answers your questions
Thanks for the read and visit

Sorry, didn't think that the tears were from bad news, now I must pay attention to writes and not assume things.
I wrote a similar piece a while back can't recall it's name, some thing to do with being at a bus stop and in the end wiping the tears away as if the wind had caught the eyes.
I often wonder why we all keep grief as a private thing, is it not better to cry with someone than alone, I often feel your pain in some of your writes but didn't think to look for it in this one as I could not feel that you were unhappy about anything at the moment but that's me..
Take care young lady and try not to cry alone it is a deep pit,
Yours Ian.T xx
Found it :-

Lost Beauty

I saw a flower enclosed within a velvet frame
If only this flower was for me the moisture cried
The moisture seemed to be finer than the finest dust
Collected from all the far reaches of the body.

Where the very soul dictated that its presence be felt
Gathering its harvest from these far away places
With never a question of can I, from its maker
Disregarding the vain attempts to stop the harvest.

The very soul pulled as if forever against its will
There the will failed with a sudden long sigh
This accumulation gathered of those far reaches
Rolled from the eyes with complete abandon.

Only to be brushed aside casually
As if caused by chill winds.

Just a thought of tears young one..

I think your right it is better to get it out than to hold it in, and dont worry my title is a little ambiguous and probably should be changed I will think on it and see what I can come up with

love the poem and I *see* what you mean

dreams are simply

self- reflections of self
what you think
dream of....
they come on your night's
mental invisible imaginary subconscious screen
eyes wide open....
simply
visibly shut....

loved

I know exactly what you mean
and I agree dreams are just our subconcious
playing with our awake type thoughts ;)
