I Saw a Ghost Today

I saw a ghost today
while visiting a place
I didn't want to go back to.

But curiosity,
even the dreaded kind
makes me want
to peek around corners.

I saw a ghost
just an image
that I could never express in words,
even if I were given
every one in the world.

If I could etch it into an idol
it would still be sacrilegious,
a demon in a white dress.

Instead I shall sweep it
with the kitchen broom
into a pile
with the rest of the ashes.

Review Request (Intensity):
I want the raw truth, feel free to knock me on my back
Review Request (Direction):
What did you think of my title?
How was my language use?
What did you think of the rhythm or pattern or pacing?
How does this theme appeal to you?
How was the beginning/ending of the poem?
Is the internal logic consistent?

I like the word usage and almost everything else about this. The only thing which i think might improve it would be a bit more clarification of what the ghost is..........stan

Perhaps a memory of a past event? ( sometimes memories flash into our minds - triggered by a smell, touch etc ). We may muse on it for awhile - but if it's painful we quickly consign them to the ash heap.

I like it! ( just hope I'm not barking up the wrong tree ).

Well done!
