espiritu

in the shadows the chimes voice
rose and fell
dry like the brittle leaves of fall
walking quick in fright
the death of midnite dark and dear
the shadow of a message
vague and near
behind before the swirl of light

In tides of hearts
the oceans work
like airs whirling rush
the dreamers lurk
the slickened facts
like tracks of rain
anonymous and
cold with pain

When Nightingales Sing

When Nightingales Sing

Tear my heart apart
let my soul languish
in loneliness.
Let my words die
in the making
as they fade into
nothingness,

I am the nightingale
who sings its melancholy
at twilight
unheard, unseen
hidden in the morning mist
mesmerized
by the Beauty of its
Music
deaf to a voice
grown old
grown weak
and dying

LATENT

gravel road winding slow
past gates and leaning fences
the overhang and cool dark glades
the chill of entering a scene of hades
the radio chatter barely there
the wheel vibration keeping time
we're almost there

the radio car sits across the scene
just park lights on
a morning dream
one coffee in the shift
begins
but like this life
it never seems
to end
begin
the seamelss
traumas
making sense
horrific drawa

Not tomorrow

Who knows about a tomorrow
I only know of today
come love me now
without any sorrow
why my precious time
do you want to take away

Tonight is all I can promise today
who knows whether the sunrise
will come again our way
so tonight only, I can promise,
the whole night long I will stay
Who knows about tomorrow
we may not live that day

raice

slip into the fold of dreams
jump and land in the fodder of the bed
through the veins of light in the slats
of the wind
the moon hunger slips across your talc
flesh like stripes

my thirst for your salts
the tender and waif
the weak and potent
we pause the initial
greeting of touch
like the pause of
the great pent up
moment

Villain

I'm going to burn
and I'm going to bleed,
and I have no one to blame
but myself.

If this seems simple to you
in your way of black and white,
know that my way
of mud and smokey windows
doesn't make it easier.

I'm drowning.
I need you
and I don't know how to call for you.
There are moments I absolutely can't stand you,
but it's with you I can't live without.

Blessings (Metaphor WS #4)

May I offer you the warm hug of the sunlight
to be the cradle of the hopes that you seek?
Let the wind carry my love to you tonight
to be your light when the face of fate is bleak.

The Kerchief

Writing this letter with borrowed inks
In umbrageous hues of lonely evenings
Don't you read it at night thinking it's a dream of norm
As dreams often disappear with the advent of dawn

Sleep has lost its path today
Put out the moon if you can
On the way grab some clouds
Sow a warm blanket if you can

You aren't there yet here somewhere
Fogging up my eyes like breath on a mirror
My mind has locked its doors from the inside
And you keep knocking as a thought from the outside

LA RACHELLE

drunk is the moon...the poisoned stars drawn to their lagoon
the lager cup
the last smiles
before we touched down
I should have known
what was up

into the seamless cold
and veins of snow crawling
on the tarmacs face
like a vision
lost in the steam
and traffic and these lights

burning amber yellow
green and red
you were a voyage
across the rivers of
my damned

ON AN EVENING WALK

I, unsteady, walk a hardwood ridge
in a cool early autumn wind
which has helped decreasing sunlight
begin to paint worn summer leaves.

As has become reality these days
I am alone while on this trek
as I search and slowly scout
for coming season among other things.

For a moment a retreating cloud,
a last remnant of past night's rain,
darkens both the woods and mood
soon it releases the sun
but not my brood.
