Thoughts from Guinievere
I'm a figment of a
nations
imagination
yet i'm woman
still
and strong
I embody all Queenly
graces
yet
naturally act like
Jill or John
What was the mad
Welsh Monks
idea to make me
like a pedestal?
Just so I could
fall from ancient
grace
have punishment
pushed in my face
'The Great Arturus'!
my Romano-Brit
Romeo-
I toy with you
you know I do
My lascivious
lover
Lancelot
well- I love him
wouldn't you?
Malory made
me a Goth
all swooning
wafty
toff
I was convincing
to silly Victorian
maids-a-milking
but still
Geoffrey mad monk
from Monmouth
made me behave
A thousand lonely
years to sit
and wait
for liberation
A high price indeed
to fit
a puzzle
to piece together
nation

Le Mort d'Arthur/ Historia Regum Brittaniae
Stories to bind a British consciousness.....all lies of course....but convincing historical context makes them fun to read!

What a kick in the head!
Can you say "wry"? How about "wicked"?
You grow on me more and more.
This is no rough draft, you are finished.

Wow...
Thank you Mr Snow. I enjoy all stories to do with Camelot, King Arthur. The fact it's all the imaginings of a lonely welsh monk, makes it more poignant. I will return to this theme in the personae of various characters...their thoughts as I'd imagine them to behave...Keep me occupied for a bit, eh?

This piece is a beaut to read and the short lines carried the picture so well, nothing wasted and so well written.

Thanks ian
I'm crafting my style. It's freeform, but i'm mindful to place emphasis on key words for impact. I like a loose half rhyme in my work to keep the momentum. Trying to craft that better too. Thanks for your feedback.
