You Have Not Started Over You Have Only Just Begun

sometimes
you just gotta deal.
your cards have been dealt.
now play with them.
take your shitty hand and see how it matches up
and it's okay to feel like less.
it's okay to want more.
just know that you're the only one
who can take it.

I can see you flinging your arms everywhere
flailing the fuck around
you would think they hired you to be the next turbine
but you waste too much energy
climbing your molehills.
crawling up inclines of two degrees.
yes, this is how I see it sometimes.
but sometimes it makes
no sense because
shouldn't a person be enough?
don't you want to stop now?

none of It matters.
it all is washed by rain anyway
same rain, same feeling,
right?
putting the feelings aside
there are some things I can't fix,
I can't fix you.
I can't fix me very well, I mean
look at me
still an idiot.
some things you can't change
and some things you can't set free
but there are some things that hurt less
things that smile a little more
kiss a little softer
there is always hope.
because even though the sun may not come out
today or tomorrow or till next year
the sun is always a cloud away.

but an effective one. "there are some things I can't fix,
I can't fix you.
I can't fix me very well," Has overtones of the serenity prayer.

A new workshop on the most important element of poetry-
'Rhythm and Meter in Poetry'
https://www.neopoet.com/workshop/rhythm-and-meter-poetry

being old now and far from the turbines of my day
still being one i may add
i love the resilence and stubborn ability of those
given a spin out and coming back
tidying up their gear
their pack and putting a foot behind
another..

like the line from the crow
it doesnt rain all the time..

survivors of great apocalyptic times
kept going through that
imprisonments etc...

the survivor key
when others perished
washed in the passion
and void..

this is a great poem

thank you...
