Tolerance and worthy intentions

My deep affection reaches for your heart sometimes
Like a birdsong from a willow
You have batted, distracted, at the delicate intention
Like a bothered youth at summer gnats
And yet there springs more sweet consideration
Tolerance, at least in time
And appreciation further to embed more bonded warmth and comfort
I would offer butterflies of tenderness and trust
Yet you would have less fragile ministrations
We may bestow less concentrated pleasantries at times
And yet in all my understanding, gathered over years
No other could quite balance the affection
With the loyalty and constancy
You gift to me

lol - the beginning of this is so the perfect description of the aussie male (((rotflmao))) -
sorry to spoil the romanticims lol

oh no really i love the write and the sentiment of it... but it is sooo the epitome...

great descriptive... analogy
'My deep affection reaches for your heart sometimes
Like a birdsong from a willow
You have batted, distracted, at the delicate intention
Like a bothered youth at summer gnats'
- but you have two 'likes' here and my backbone grates at one lol

i think that i would also make
'would offer butterflies of tenderness and trust'
a new stanza
- seems to need to be as i read it

besides
'And appreciation further to embed more bonded warmth and comfort'
is an extremely long line, and i think you would get away with it more if you made the following line a new stanza

'Each for the joy of the working, and each, in his separate star,
shall draw the Thing as he sees It, for the God of Things as They are.'
(Rudyard Kipling)

Hello,
I loved the imagery, it took me in. A very well done poem indeed. :)

"My deep affection reaches for your heart sometimes

Like a birdsong from a willow"...oh how this is strongly felt.

And following gnats that annoy like a mist of unrest.
A haunting story this, with the same strong feeling throughout,
unsure and yet not, I enjoyed its form,
but i divided it as you see here,
in order to make it easier to read and digest.

Those first two lines will stay with me always. :)

but the reflection of the moon on water, lives." Kenzan.
