Cassandra's Rainsong

It's the seventh month once again
the fireworks allowed that to be known,
my thoughts turn towards my daughter
and how much my girl has grown.

Turns out she's quite the mother!
She deserves some sort of crown,
she deals with so much on her plate
rarely caught letting anyone, down.

I believe she's really happy
though, in life there's always strife;
her secret is to do what she must
to achieve a happy life.

Sometimes it rains inside her heart
but she still holds high, her head;
her quiet grace shines through those clouds
and a rainbow appears, instead.

I remember when I first met her
as her doctor, on her delivery day;
I performed as any other physician
in a do-it-yourself, emergency-style way!

Sure, she has her own little oddities
but, her rainsong always rings true;
as she performs every task put in front of her
her rainbow cannot help, but shine through.

You must be quite proud of her! And to have delivered her into this world... what a special bond, there!

...I appreciate that. She was delivered by myself at home, and the doctor thought it was Braxton/Hicks, so she took her time; and the mid-wife took her cue from the doctor, sooo..........! The paremedics arrived at quite a horror show, as far as the bedroom decor went!
at any rate, by the time the doctor DID arrive; my Cassandra Rae was about 5 hours old! I told her my wife was bathing her again, and that I had "pinch-hit" for both her, and the mid-wife; she said, "Way to go, Doc!"
I n+++ear
