Lost Love

By: Alex Tanner

Should I recall those blissful times
When we like climbing flowers entwined;
Our blossoms scented evenings air
As Love and Lust forsook our cares.

Your laugh was soft and gentle,
A butterflies wings in spring,
Dancing on the sunbeams
Enough to make me sing.

Eyes so bright they sparkled
Diamonds on moonlit snow;
Flashing hither and thither
To make my pulse race so.

We held each other gentle
Yet tight so not to break,
Though deep, our love could never last,
Different paths our lives would take.

For fleeting months we tarried,
Each time we met we knew
This may be the last time
For lovers hours are few.

If I love ten thousand women
Tis you I will recall;
You gave yourself so willing,
For your passion I did fall.

On black nights as the wind howls,
As I lie in a bed so cold,
Your soft voice echoes 'cross the years
To warm my lonely soul.

infatuation

Infatuation

Oh I wasn't good in physics
Always sucked at knowing lyrics
Been told to follow critics
All I wanted was some kisses
You made a lot of promises
All of them you never kept

My love melted as chocolate
You'd set time and be late
Always wonder if we on a date
It was more like waiting for fate
When you did everything I hate
Left me torn I couldn't open the gate
Mama told me to reject love

Cri de Coeur

Running as rivers
Soft as gleam
Maybe liquid
Maybe steel
Yet with a noble cause
No other way
Sign of strength
Seeking for will
Might be a boubou of regrets
Might be a call for what the soul rejects
Taciturn or a screech
All that matters is what the soul rejects
Might be against humanity’s law
But please make it raw
Void of emotions or flaming as hell
It all matters if it’s going to be recoil
Or proceeding exploits.

Never Giving Up

Giving up is not an option.

you've come too far to yield,

always be in motion,

ward off all depressions with a shield

life isn't for the indolence,

so, fend off all challenges and turbulence.

.Sometimes we just want to let go,

seems life is always not fair,

despite fake facade and public show,

we groan secretly in despair,

you aren't going nowhere going backwards,

'cos the way forward is forward.

In my few decades on earth,

I have seen that nothing lasts,

Spiral

As my emotions blow past me
I face them as they come
Confusion, sadness, anger
They hit me one by one

Overwhelmed, I cannot stop
This unholy barrage
Bruised by gas lighting
Torn apart from love

Screaming through the spiral
Past rage and exhaustion,
Grasping for empathy
Slamming into the earth

Face down, blood pouring
From my soul outward
I pick myself up, dusting off the hate
Beginning the long climb upward

Mine

Oh ye frequenter
this luscious temple and
everything that is within
Is mine.
you are a drop-in seeking to worship
don't act like you own it

Till when will you understand
that the essence that flows in this valley
Is mine.
you should have known
when you searched for honey
in a honey pot that wasn't for you

So keep your stereotypic comments
run as fast as your tiny legs can bare
this rebel here is done being told
what to do

MY QUIETUS

Having long ago gone past
The equinox, of my being
Now, it’s only atrophy
In myself I’m seeing

Yet, I grudgingly march on
To the solstice in my life
A meeting with that grim
And hooded thing, with scythe

But, this journey to my destiny
At the end of perdition’s road
Is made, not with heavy heart
But with joy, from easing of the load
BOEMS BY JA 286

Dischord

You tear up the night
shredding clouds, bruising sky
with your untamed, unchained symphony.
Trees swing,
saplings split,
Twenty five feet of axle and aluminium
bend and flex as you
chew and spit out your fury
against thin walls.
Inside,
curtains sashay,
cups slide,
we are all forced to the beat
of your Danse Macabre.
Only one of us
cocooned, slumbers on
mindless that the end of our world
is within your grasp.

Roses and Supposes

Maybes And Supposes….

Rain plays gently on
the hood of my coat,
I hear though I choose
to play the fool.
Weather torn sounds
escape from my throat,
I’m glad nature doesn’t
understand cruel.

Wonder what stirs man’s base desire,
perhaps a jolt in his cerebral thought.
Maybe it’s like a heat radiating from fire,
or a starts gun, with more than one shot.

Humbled Before Him

My God is so awesome, majestic
He's worthy and glorious
So beautiful to me
My God is living within my soul
Leading me gently through
Green valleys and peaceful streams
My God is so wonderful to me
I seek Him daily and call out His name
Bowing before His precious throne
Humbled and contrite longing to see
The way to heaven and be with my King
Humbled and thankful that Jesus loves me

Wonderful Love

Wonderful love, love overwhelming
So awesome to me
Beautiful thoughts, beautiful glory
That is in God
Songs of praise and offered
As worship
Praising Jesus with my songs
