Lost Love

By: Alex Tanner

Should I recall those blissful times
When we like climbing flowers entwined;
Our blossoms scented evenings air
As Love and Lust forsook our cares.

Your laugh was soft and gentle,
A butterflies wings in spring,
Dancing on the sunbeams
Enough to make me sing.

Eyes so bright they sparkled
Diamonds on moonlit snow;
Flashing hither and thither
To make my pulse race so.

We held each other gentle
Yet tight so not to break,
Though deep, our love could never last,
Different paths our lives would take.

For fleeting months we tarried,
Each time we met we knew
This may be the last time
For lovers hours are few.

If I love ten thousand women
Tis you I will recall;
You gave yourself so willing,
For your passion I did fall.

On black nights as the wind howls,
As I lie in a bed so cold,
Your soft voice echoes 'cross the years
To warm my lonely soul.

Involved Feelings

Feeling nothing more then the way you make me

Even if I'm down it's the feeling I get when your around

She got the power to turn a frown right side round

The upside... opposite of being down

It's a shame she's leaving town

Still I wished her the best even when inside I was wishing

She didn't have to go.....With everything in my soul I wanted to tell her don't

If I wanted the best for her I wouldn't be selfish

On departure of a friends spouse…

thanks all
it’s a sad day today
but all your appreciations
make way

and

sweet smiles I now
once again display

life's mission is so
that's all we know,
people come and people go

when who will come
we perhaps, may know
but who's to go
Heaven alone knows...

Dead Girl Walking

She owns each heart that dares to dream
and quickly initiates,
he settles for his drama spared
while he evaluates;

she chooses to quietly greet the dawn
and secretly contemplates,
he hears anguish, her voice is gone
as she deliberates.

She understands, he's indecisive
learning to tolerate,
he alone, can predict the future
for those that irritate;

She wanders lost inside his eyes
and feels him devastate,
he merely feigns a shocked surprise,
reaching out to violate.

TATTOOS

TATTOOS

White hot sun scorches stones,
their crystals burning rainbows
sharp as glints of light that pierce the skin,
when patterns merge with matter,
man made magic, singed into the membrane thin,
a shout of pain the brain perceives,
no sound to hear, no star to see,

meeting in Ottawa

I love to read you
Dear Esker...

twill be a pleasure to meet you
when I come to Ottawa….

but then

I wouldn't like to risk my anonymity
Oh! what a pity
I can never meet ye
in all sincerity
but shall find a way
if wills divinity

SKARBAIRN BURNZ

rise ruby lisp
like a jewel lip
the hot house leap

We the attic tenders
an ache of cotton
stretched upon our arms
and the tall haze of summer
climber of the yard

we hear static whispers
in transistor resistors
the wind torn towers
transmitting

we are dark ovid acres
carbon crystals in the light
we are the hunger of water
when our loves hurt and parched
passion wends our sight

Regretful Consequentcumstances

After flying extremely high
by my incompetent seat of my pants,
I finally took some time to study
how to turn down an awkward "dance".

Armed with this powerful knowledge
I'd look over both choice's results,
some asessments took me down fairer pathways
and with others, I just missed the boats!

Nonetheless, l owned each purchase
retaining what accompanied each choice,
Silently, I'll remember and regret them
or bellow disdain with my Big Daddy voice!

Just friends

Lately this just friends
Thing seems  more like a one
way street than any kind
Of friendly relationship

one can't help wonder
if you wouldn't feel better
just doing your own thing

Does a person really
need that many
Friends anyway .....
Just a few good friends
that should be sufficient
But we all have some
want or need to be liked

Crumbs

What the hell?
In my eye,
that's where you fell.

What the hay?
You're s'posed to last
all freakin' day!

I wonder why
you insist on messin'
with my eye.

Quit it now!
Hold still while
I pluck you out.

Oh my god!
You're so big
and black and odd.

I hope no body
Else could see
How my eyeliner betrayed me.

gracious....gratia...

gracious

Sir you Sir me,
a non poet that I be
but
that you do read
yet not comment,
for that I have no lament

as you are on the Board now
will you introduce the system...
wherein we could once know how
many read
and
so to ourselves say
wow!.

No artist is complete
unless praise is showered
ones work is replete
Emotion-less
pathetic
