Mum... You and I

By: Rula

Together we witnessed time ebbs and tides:

we went through ups, we went through downs,

yet luckily we got each other's sides,

you and I, you and I.

Together, unwillingly, we grew old,

with devestating wrinkles, and white hair.

We both raised families, yet we're still bold

You and I, you and I.

Together we laughed, together we cried:

I uplifted your spirits, you got my tears wiped,

we stayed together, side by side,

You and, I you and I.

Together we lived for worse and better,

until Alzheimer's stole you, my bank of love,

although you promised to stay forever

You and I, you and I.

My Gold

By Mr joghe

In whom I spent my old days and nights,

Who rocked me in my cradle;

And fed my pretty mouth with a spoon,

Did weep while I should weep.

How much will I pay

For the pain you’ve taken for me?

Who worked that jumper to keep me warm;

Treated me with diffidence and respect,

Her healthy arms always be my stay,

And always admired my prudent face that filled with laughter.

How much will I pay

For the pains you’ve taken for me?

Who tired me with apology for being tiresome,

And asked twenty questions and never waited for an answer.

My timidity struck her at the first sight;

When she taught me to expect something extraordinary.

How much will I pay

For the pains you’ve taken for me?

I find such a pleasure

In obeying her commands,

That I take care to observe;

Shall soon come to bless me.

How much will I pay

For the pains you’ve taken for me?

I vow, I thought so;

Never, as among queens and princesses

In her age; to be explicit,

I’ve kept very little company

In pretty smooth dialogues with her.

How much will I pay

For the pains you’ve taken for me?

INCRedible don't not believe

You know Ian

they discovered a teen twosome
one a gal the other a guy
and gal wearing guy’s garb
and the guy was inside gals attire...
they sent them into a fire
and lo and behold
they came out hand in hand
having exchanged their natural stand ...
the guy became a gal
then she said why I should lag behind
she had a handle in her hand
and then the padre said
I damn care who is who
as long as one is with a handle
the other without one

WIDOW'S RETREAT (a morphing poem)

At sixty years
the telephone
bringing bad news late at night

An accident
on his way home
mad dash to the hospital
....too late....

The daze
of death certificates
coffin choices
hushed sad voices
busy work
then finally

alone

For almost all her life
she's been a part of someone else
a teenage girlfriend
mother...
wife

Now the kids are grown and gone
as expected, as should be
but facing even one more day
or cold nights for eternity?

Beauty in the eyes of the beholder

Beauty being in that eye of the beholder;
The beauty of the face, the slender body
Of a teenager girl that won’t miss a step down the stairs,
That eye-gluing smile sparking outa of her
The passage between breasts of a young princess,
The lips of your wife that redden with passion
The unblinking eyes that house love, that spark in them,
Beauty being in the house of the beholder;
Would it be just the silver line in a cloud?
When anger rages out of the lips that redden with passion,

WHY KILL THE CHILDREN

WHY KILL THE CHILDREN

Seems in any war the children are targeted first.
Why kill the children larking about in the streets.
Innocents marked out to be shot.
Sweep the child into your arms say I love you.
Protect the weak against the bullets of hate.

Remembrence day

the 11 th hour,on the 11 th day,On the 11 th month,,We hope and pray,For all our soldiers,Fighting this day,That they return,All safe And sound,We need no more,In hallowed ground,So use this day,To Pray for All,And pray,That no more will fall,Think of the friends,That we have lost,The senseless Fighting,The lives Its cost,I will pray,For my Kingsmens Mates,Who lost there lives,In conflicts,Small And great,And pray that they,Will forever live,In our hearts,For what they've give,There faces I still see,And forever will,It haunt me,RIP,

Like Bugs On Windscreens

The tempo trips
stops shortly
smothering
attempts at
quips
rational...

All life is here
the good, bad
afeared

And yet
something else to be achieved
The Voice
must be perceived
as Truth
for the crafter of honest visions

Before the ranks
of angle poised
'Thought-Screens'
smear and distort
the crafter of honest visions

Like a distressed bug
on a colliding windscreen
It's upon before
escaping
oblivion

Drones

Drones

I sit here at my computer
with my flight controller on
Don't worry my child
This wont take long

I fly my Drone,
across deserts sun blazed,
seeing with its eyes,
a man standing amazed.

He stand's with no fear,
just does't realise.
Never seeing me,
a drone flies, his demise

In my room so far away,
"Yes" I will kill him today.
Maybe take out a family or two
It matters not to me, or you.

lilac moons from a master

As Infinitesimal leaves
plucked by a great seer
it started,

half-light birthed
and a lilac moon erupted,
from a crown of pine

all this,
concealing
a master at work

I observed,
invisible hands
slowly smear the canvas,
Water Lilies now splash
in my pastel sky,
astonished

existing for eons,
since waters lapped
at Uluru,
since hanging rock
was submerged
never knowing a glory
of impression,
wedges of oceans had
separated

A Poetic Dream

I want to be a great poet
Make you think and ask questions
Seek the answer to know it
Beautiful poems I want to write

Deep in your heart I want to touch
Bring what I see into your site
Can I get you to laugh and cry
Write my poetry on your mind

I want to write with conviction
To be able tell stories of rhyme
That makes me have to consider
How to write every line

With words new things I will try
Invoke an emotion inside
So you have an experience
Lay it all out on the line

Promises

He promised me ecstasy
I got sausage and chips
He promised me kisses twee
too short on my lips
He got down on one knee
couldn't get up with his hips
he promised me he was free
my ear his girl clips
