My Mother's Stroke (a limerick for the Serious Limerick workshop)
In these bodies we really are, "stuck".,
it's difficult getting through all the muck !
Mom just died from a stroke,
and was comfortably broke;
so it seems death's a stroke of "good luck"!

About Me
I'm retired. Don't want to talk about it. I believe that God comes first, family second, and friends come third in life...so, I'm "grounded" in that regard... and can't take myself too seriously.
Other than writing poetry, daily....I am a musician in a blues/rock band called the Mavericks, where I'm known as "Doc" Maverick. I play the harmonica, drums, and guitar...and I sing, but not all at once.
I'm also a practicing magician, and a former member of the Magic Castle...so, I'm pretty popular with my 4 grandchildren, and all of my nieces, and nephews!
Lastly, I'm single.....and, still "hoping". I'm a die-hard romantic, so I'm well grounded, in that regard, as well.
I must add that, I am proud to be a member of such a strong, working site as..New. neopoet ! When I really am working, most agree...it's quite a "site".
Location: The High Desert, in the wild west, southern California, U.S. of A.., USA
Keates
Poe
Dickinson
and Dr. Seuss. There are a smattering of others
but why bother listing 'em all
ya know?
I also rely on a few of our poets
here....for advice
and what not. I couldn't possibly explain what a fountain of live
effective knowledge we have...right here in our midst ! To catch a glimmer of brilliance
merely visit: the Stream.
