study upon the subject, I have learned that Senryu and Haiku are two different things. Senryu is most generally about people and emotion, and usually with elements of sarcasm introduced. Haiku is about nature and most usually entail observations
on an emotional level. Both are traditonally written with five-seven-five syllables and not rhymed. However, there are a portion of both Japanese and English writers that subscribe to the idea that it need not be so; when written in English. So write away and show us what you've got! This must be the place, 'cause there ain't no place like this place anywhere near this place.

Hello, CrazyMary!
Lovely! I peeked in on your profile and see that you are from Iowa, which immediately gave me an image of rows of corn changing now and through the fall. I love all three lines together, but your final line gives the poem such a bittersweet melancholy feeling. For me, I sense that summer is going by too fast, and the poem is grabbing every precious moment.

Thank you!

n. (Welsh) A spiritual longing
for a home which maybe never
was. Nostalgia for ancient places
to which we cannot return. It is
the echo of the lost places of our
soul's past and our grief for them.
It is in the wind, and the rocks,
and the waves. It is nowhere and
it is everywhere.

I immediately thought of this welsh word. And the opening lyrics of Led Zeppelin’s “Ramble On”

“Leaves are falling all around
It's time I was on my way
Thanks to you I'm much obliged
For such a pleasant stay
But now it's time for me to go
The autumn moon lights my way”

It’s just around the corner, it’s so dry here in the northeast the black and yellow birch are changing color early.

Well done!

Tim
