hello and welcome Crazy Mary!
I used to know a Crazy Mary back in my daze when I rolled with the WBMC ("West Bank Motorcycle Club") she was a hoot and a half. spent one night sitting by a campfire talking and laughing all night. could you be that Crazy Mary?
your poem just about covers the holiday, with an economy of words ;)
my husband and I have no children. at Yule Tide, we send support to our favorite charities. we used to put up a yule tree with all of our hand made decorations and a new hallmark (of the year)
dated ornament. some years back, tired of getting stabbed by pine needs through our socks, we set aside the tree. then we decorated the fireplace mantle with a christmas village, including houses shops and figures of inhabitants. and the small twinkle lights. now we are tired and older. we have a "Tom & Jerry" and light the yule candle. being wiccan (just me) I have a Yule celebration in love and appreciation.
to you, I wish a happy and merry.
Brightest of Blessings, Cat

Even...
half-way through this piece, I was expecting it to rhyme! It just has that kind of sing-song rhythm. Nice, economy-minded poem. ~ Geezer.
