Joy Overrides Pain

The most joy I ever had
Sharing ideas, experiences
Those help others where they're weak
Poets’ young, young at heart
Beginner, intermediate, advanced
Sharpen creative writing skills

I lie in my bed, tired
Feeling pangs of trials, hard hitting
Heat flares in my flesh
I take a break often, closing my eyes
Weary from pain controlling my life
My joy soars, excelling my inner peace

Shadow of death, through dark isles
Make gloomy my days, stormy my nights
With thoughts of life and death towering
My painful conditions never cease
Quiet death, resting in peace, I crave
In the wee hours of morning light

Through it all, I walk with stride
Head held high toward the clouds
To one mightier than me, to live on
Though I'm weak, I'm strong in my spirit
One day at a time, moment to moment
On the road to light of possible dreams

Review Request (Intensity):
I want the raw truth, feel free to knock me on my back
Review Request (Direction):
What did you think of my title?
What did you think of the rhythm or pattern or pacing?
Is the internal logic consistent?

This was a hard piece to write and to read it takes us where Angels fear to tread to quote a saying.
That light that you are aware of is always there and will one day blend with your beautiful Spirit in a dance that will bring you a wonder beyond my words.
I have been told that we are here to learn of many things and our Spirit is held in a physical body to endure many things that need to be learned.
I hope that your learning becomes easier as time passes but believe in that light it is there, Yours Ian.T

There are a million reasons to believe in yourself,
So find more reasons to believe in others..
