The Clown
In the parks
and parties,
he charms hearts
with his tricks.
He chases away
other's sadness
to fill the day
full of laughter
His colourful silly attire
makes people smile,
forgetting their worries
even for awhile
But he is a human
like you and me
bound by emotions,
his wants and his needs
Beneath the painted face
he struggles to survive,
living life at his own pace
to keep his dreams alive.
Who knows his heart,
the tears that he hides,
the worries he have,
the secrets kept inside?
Who can soothe his heart
when it is aching silently,
tearing him apart
with a spell of melancholy?
In the end the answer lies
in the people he serves
who sees his real worth
giving the applause
he deserves
He's a clown to you,
a warrior to his family
and his mission here
is to make everyone happy

Write less
make each poem count more.
Think about it. Read the great poets. It's not how passionate you are, it's how good you are.

Jess

Alid, especially read other poets
starting from the classic, my favourites are English but any culture will do. But read, read, read. I can tell you don't read poetry because you would be aware of the plethora of cliches you use.
cheers,
Jess
