bitter breeze

traffics steady stream
the airports glow atop
the hill
the people moving
the grit in their grimace
cheery chatter
the dogs nose picks
up the backscatter
we're alive on the track
nose to the trail
fingers freezing
wind finding all the
tears and cracks
in this old coat
and worn up pants
fashion be damned
we need a blazing
fire to dance in
the light
everyone heading
home from the shifts
the shopping for
the night
The old soul stirs
like the wind on
the hat
Winter walks
and the trees
talk!

As usual a great write and the picture it shows to me is great.
Having spent a few Winters in Canada I am aware how the weather and people are affected by the day to day things.
Great young Wolf was just wondering where you had been but noticed the reason in another comment some place.
Take care out there and look after yourself,
Yours Ian..

Unconditional love to you all.

Yours as always, Ian.T, Sparrow, and Yenti

This is just wonderful, by far my favourite piece of yours that I've read to date.

I'd really like to hear you perform this on audio, if thats an option on this site.

You finished in the right place, thats a difficult thing to do.

Obi.

hearing this spoken out loud would indeed be a treat!

I have a long beak! so I have a nasal soft voice...
someone said i sound like the folk singer Pete Singer!
so I love singing Little Boxes!!
I read live well enough!
I just usually dont read live!
Should give er an attempt one day!
always interesting too hear how we sound!
Yes
this one needed to be upbeat rather then
the atmospheric and out there
self indulging satisfaction...
it Gives me Shelter
and positive Helps me
get my edge on and
like Huxley and Jim talked
wrote..spoke and sang
Break on Through!

cold out today but beautiful
sidewalks clean for my
mile and some sidewalk
biker run to stores downtown
and home!!
my fur hat and fake turtle
neck collar and leather
gloves will keep me
fairly warm!

thank U! Poet chummies!
Mr Wolf!

not much..as kids we would wait for bus in worse...no snow days or cold days in seventies!
huddled by the doors like penguins.....Thank God for teenage years....Daddys car to drive
to school....had enough of the military type transport...I had a heater and stereo I could crank!!
stretch out with my frame! face was hurting a bit....but moving for half a mile warms U up! tons of old timers!! 70 year olds and 80s! those that can walk..carry goods! and If I was downtown..waterfront...always people parked there looking at the water And walking the beach walkways and way out on the goverment wharf! always suprised me! Kids..passed many with only light jackets..prolli sweater on underneath....younger in parents arms on shoulders with no hats...But I remember when No Hat was going on my head....Then...Now I wear em! de riguer!

Years ago I bought vintage woolen jackets....wore only wool sweaters..toques and felt lined Snow mobile boots...But the felt idea was from the Air bombers of UK....Wool Jackets are expensive! but work! New! Navy Surplus for the camel colored jackets...Bone clasp with hoods..I had a 1954 Navy jacket....best jacket....ever! But the new synthetics are Light!!

Further north....Thunder Bay....it gets to minus forty five and holds for two weeks....west even colder......I remember up there..poorly dressed...Jeans turn into cardboard! snow pants or a dickies work cover alls were the best..again like the Lancaster or B-17 flight suits! and those were electric heated!! I drive a mile or two tops...inside...then back to mall..inside....if One were in the woods just standing about all day.....One would have to have everything or U would get hypothermia which i have had a few times...and black tipped toes...fingers! still.....its daring...the view in the mists and clarity of the cold and sunlight sparkling on the land is divine at times!! We had fires long ago....warm your front and freeze your ass! Magnificent ode to the primitive though!! Baked potatoes and meat wrapped on a green stick! hot chocolate and a tea pail! I havent had smokey tea on an open fire in years!!! Now its A and W in a warm and cozy mall with others to not feel alone....
Mr Wolf!
