FANATICAL BIGOTORY

Union of partitioned sects
Ten coded commandments
Borrowed from Hamurabi
A heritage to Pharos’ past
Must testimonial judgment
Spectacles without light rays
Come as revelation in voices, sing
And compel me to be born again?

Must mutual friendship be betrayed
By illusions of belief in claims
Of self made uprightness
Oh! Holier than thou outlook
See others as legions of darkness
Assign vain, void and inglorious
Their hearts’ intimate realization?

Ignorance, intolerance and superstition
Ageless diseases of our time
Though with infants’ guise
Constitute modern demons
Explaining magic and miracle
Without substances in knowledge
Of the book of man and of nature

The mind like an umbrella
Functions best when it is open
Shielding showering raindrops
From impeding our vision
Ushering discernment and understanding
Of the principles and of the universe
To guide our evolution and liberate our souls

Review Request (Intensity):
I want the raw truth, feel free to knock me on my back
Review Request (Direction):
What did you think of my title?
How was my language use?
What did you think of the rhythm or pattern or pacing?
How does this theme appeal to you?
How was the beginning/ending of the poem?
Is the internal logic consistent?

This piece is a reaction to those who think that their professed religion is the only good thing acceptable by God and all others are nonsense. Thank you and best wishes.
