The Desert Forest

I'm convinced I'm surrounded by idiots
and, they're totally driving me mad!

I thought briefly about e-mailing friends
but, some idiot took the lap-top, I had!

If idiots were trees, I'd tell you what;
this, high desert'd be a forest, for sure;

I'm still deciphering if there are any that're normal
because, it's getting way too much for me to endure!

Sometimes, when in an intensely deep conversation
they'll appear, as though they knew what you'd said;

but, then they'll say something real idiotic
and, it feels as though they're playing with your head!

The high desert must do that to some people
there's clear evidence some brains have begun;

to sort of saute` all their grey matter
because, for them...there's way too much sun!

Apparently, these types require "mass foliage"
or, their brains tend to shrink way too small;

I guess, the high desert isn't for some folks
I seriously doubt, that they'll even make it...to "fall"!

I can't fault the poetry...

but even Ogden Nash wrote poetry that changed the way he presented his humor. Granted, his really vicious stuff I don't care for and tend to read his goofball comedy, but I will say (and I'm treading on thin ice here) that this is the sixth poem of yours I have read recently that is written in a loose meter with rhyming couplets. Even their length is comparable. Not everyone wants to leave their comfort zone and no one should be cajoled to do so, but maybe you could give it some thought. You were the first poet on coming to Neo that I latched onto because you offered everything I love in poetry: a readable form, a little humor, a clean grasp of language and subjects that force a man to think.
I apologize if I'm being a pest, but I miss the ole Doc. wesley
