Sorry to hear about your situation.

This was actually written (I should have added this explanation in the "Last Few Words" section) about the relationship between nations rather than between people. Nations refers to the few persons that actually make the decisions rather than the general public at large. Sometimes the entire nation bears the brunt for the mistakes, missteps and mishaps of the few "leaders".

Taking my own backyard as an example, we have a few "leaders" deciding to go on a buying spree (tens of billions of dollars) of weapons of mass destruction like there's no tomorrow (actually having weapons of mass destruction makes the likelihood of a safe tomorrow less likely) while hundreds of millions of citizens do not have access to basic services and eke out an existence worse than in sub-Saharan Africa. The Indian public needs to be represented by persons who realize that the greatness of India is not in imported conditions of discord but in its own enlightened traditions of concord. The greatness of India is not in an alien cult of war but in its native culture of peace. The greatness of India is not in external acrimony but in internal harmony.

for taking the time to respond and give me this explanation...the poem takes on a lot more meaning for me and widens my scope of vision and comprehension! if only all nations would take your approach to weapons of mass destruction the world would be a much safer place!

Thanks for your view on wmds. wmds should face a total ban without exception,

The banning of wmds does not look likely since many developed economies depend on their manufacture of wmds to keep their economies solvent and some developing nations "leaders" see wmds as a source of their machismo and acceptance in the big boys with terrible toys bonding brigade.

being what it is, this work can be portrayed in all these respects. A family, friends or nations!
Nice job, condensing all your explanation to those three lines! ~ Gee.

This must be the place, 'cause there ain't no place like this place anywhere near this place.

This Rhyku can be taken in many ways and I mean that in a good a way. It can pertain to someone's personal issues dealing with bullies; a community who's dealing with gangs, for example, disrupting people's lives in that community; an entire country who's leaders are 'calling the shots' for everyone else; etc...
Whoever you are referring to, your message comes through and it's a sad but true one for those effected by the situation.

val

You are all correct.

Rhyku, after all, is an art form and as long as it resonates with the audience, although in different ways according to individual life experiences, the poet(s) and poem(s) have achieved the goal.
