To My Friends

Brothers and sisters of this blood path
our similarities of bled roads and mountains
that serendipity might turn seriousness to a laugh
'cause we each the ebb and flow of one fountain;

Together our souls search out for the cave
where boisterous smiles can hermit and hibernate,
in dreams we'll hold hands again
rejoice the company, sleeping fervent.

Awake! We forget our platelets tie
blind to our shared donkey
that excites as a mountains steepness dies
then creep moaning when the road comes shonky;

A Rose

With my tears
I write words
That rip souls

You speak of a God
Tell him to come
witness a man crumble

Since you left
Life is a vivid tragedy
no playwright can master

This pen is not worthy
To write of you
Only tears can paint
An image that makes God
Pray for counsel

My words seem useless
your God must be jealous
So, he took you to his palace
A soul that is worthy
Of angelic wings

Wherever you are
Paradise or pastures
You watch over
My troubled mind

No Title

Today I lost my friend, my husband
He went to sleep, and never returned

No time for goodbyes
Now only tears and sighs

Someone came and took him by the
hand, and carried him away before

the dawn of the day.Nothing left to say
except I will miss you my sweet love.

And hope to see you in my dreams.

which

a tug
moral eternity
halos of intellect
shadowed by will and want
barren consciousness
prayer kissed
bended knee torn
by fear or faith
everlasting truth
a quantum quest
for the balm
salve for disillusion
foul or fair
who discerns

False Optimism

Is it worth holding onto something,
if it was never there to begin with?
Like feeling air everywhere,
but not being able to grasp it

What have you got to lose,
when you offer someone your heart
and they won't take it
It's waiting idly inbetween
for an exchange

Is it worth the wait,
when you have no proof,
no promise
Anticipating an imagined reverie

All you've got is hoping
That their next love will be you
That their next path will lead to you

The Emotionless

Hesitant conversation
Made with caution
He sees you
But not really
You are barely there

White walls
That hold no color
No hope in sight
Faded furniture
Stained with careless mistakes
And a heart that feels no remorse

Windows sealed shut
Unable to let air flow free
You feel the suffocation
The imprisonment
The decay

Words of hurt
Hard to say
Fall upon deaf ears
Your tears are nothing
Time together just a waste

delilah

locks
like a key
turned

falling like tumblers
the reign in drips
beauties receivership

Since photoshop
Photos have become lies,
But for some…
Photos can be cryptomnesia
Reminding us,
Like words of wisdom,
learned as if remembered.

Or a reminder of the numinous,
the luminous,
ever voluminous
in every day life,
if we but look.

PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE

Nature has no use for us old men
she plots to send us on our way
thinning and then wrinkling skin
turning hair both scant and gray

Once we've passed our genes along
the slow decline then turns much faster
men grow weak who once were strong
minor hurts turn to disaster

Arteries fill up with plaque
liver and kidneys go to pot
discs crumble in the old back
the list goes on, and it's a lot

So have your fun while you still can
Nature has no use for us old men

Forever Lost

a stalk of grass,
a spritely kitten,
at play with a gentle breeze

such enchanting simplicity
I can now only envy
as I trudge through
the density of mind
