Smile...
The screams you hear through closed doors
is all you know.
The silent struggles you face alone are
all you can hold on to.
You'll be fine, everything is alright, don't worry
is what you hear.
Smile...
The countless sleepless nights, as glass breaks
and doors slam.
Endless tears are hidden beneath your pillow, it holds
all your agony, with covers over your head.
Smile...
Pain racing through your body, blood runs
slowly.
Read the rest of the poem Show less
Dirty looks to silence your cries, threats
to silence your fears.
Smile...
You face the world, no one sees the horror
you hide so well.
You look down, you hear the same thing
Smile.
