Where are you father?
Where are you father?
Why have you left, us?
Your sons,
your daughters
Abandoned
Left to rot
Left for dead in this filthy world
Left to sleep with the rats and maggots
To live in this shit
To dream of a light that will never come
No. brighter day
No. better tomorrow.
To be fed to the rapists and murders
The alcoholics the drug pushers
The diseased scum that walk the earth
The child molesters,
Fake prophets and war mongers.
Where are you God?
Where were you through the genocides
Where were you through the aids the poverty?
Where were you when Africa was trampled,
crushed under the blood drenched boots of child soldiers?
Where the fuck were you?
Why?
Why have you left?
Why have you left me?
Left me to be tossed aside
Flung into the shadows
Left for dead
Left to be beaten, raped,
Why have you let this happen?
Broken battered, the flesh torn and savagely ripped from this body.
Left to bathe in the stench of this rancid existence.
To cry
To scream
To smile
To dream
No more!
I am the drifter lost
Lost in between worlds, a soul searching for freedom
Longing for the peace that can never be found.
The peace shattered by sins of the flesh.
I am the drifter lost
Drawn to the night I sleep no more
Look at me father!
Look at what I've become!
A deviant
Driven by an insatiable lust that dwells within
A murderer
Whose hunger grows ever stronger.
Look at me father.
Look at who I am
Look at this cruel world and know we needed you.
I needed you
When the morning comes and the click of the gun ushers my spirit away from this place.
When the wind melts this soul
and mother earth takes this body to bring fourth new life.
Know father that I am at peace
and I shall sleep forever more.
Amen

Is your father your father or god?
I can't tell
The poem is powerful and well written, I feel the angst, anguish and pain.
Perhaps a hint of resolution might help.
cheers,
Jess

hey, I'm a cranky old bastard,
especially when I'm in pain, but always honest.
It's nothing to do with you.

I like it.
A wee suggestion, some more line breaks would make it more readable.
cheers,
Jess

Hello Natural Mystic,
With all these bad things that have been allowed to happen, I think it would be time to change one's diety. I did. A good venting piece. I have no suggestions.
always, Cat
p.s.
I really like your name!
