S L A N E

ere the shadow dwelt
comatose and broadly
long
as the shade thats fallen
on this lawn
like the breath of stillness
in a calm

a dream punctured
shock
torrid rapid
jagged rocks

she puts the key
upon the tongue
for his escape
the lock

and they live
twi t here and
now
midstrike
betweeen
the clock
call

between heaven
and hell

The only Slane I can find is to do with Irish, so am not sure of the title??
The theme sounds like a life to live within the pause of the second hand on a clock tic... toc ,I could feel the ways of being as each pause.
Your lines in stanza four:- Did You mean twix t ??? or just Twix ???
and they live
twi t here and
Hope all is well with you out there, spring is struggling this year not over cold but Rain and hosepipe ban at the same time.??? They need to sort out our water system for the future of our children and the economy.
You take care out there wish I was there sometimes, Yours Ian.T

There are a million reasons to believe in yourself,
So find more reasons to believe in others..

I write phonetically at times
this one just is "Slain"
and that s short for
"K I L L I N G T I M E"

to me thats simple though
and Shannon is my birth name
and I go by Shane
so Slane for me is the personal
meaning in this poem

dreams take me to someone
where after midnight
and before morning
Just a metaphor here
I think about her
and that moment

and in dreams time is not
real as we travel back and forward
there is no measure just
the hour of when we are awake
so really a dream for me
is a clock not stopped
but like a portal a doorway
everything is between
the swing of the pendulum
of travel

'Each for the joy of the working, and each, in his separate star,
shall draw the Thing as he sees It, for the God of Things as They are.'
(Rudyard Kipling)

My keyboard has issues with the "X" and the "Z"
they sometimes but they work
and not often
