RAVAGED

RAVAGED

ravaged by the years,
deceived and betrayed
by the treachery of Creation,
I have become less than myself
too quickly, too soon, nearer
to my end than my beginnings.
there comes to us all one
faithless day a sudden epiphany
of growing old and a sickening
disbelief of Life’s final push.

the savagery of this rawness....I think death is a frontier
perhaps the only one left...and where man has not
plundered minded..cut down anything of worth
and or value...
houdini whom I admired never did send anything back
and I have been close..or could have been
frozen...overdosed by staffer...I was a bit much
on arrival...hospital
gotta love em!
almost got crushed by lifting a pole once
someone yelled and the butt end of a forty
five foot pole on a rope on a boom
slammed into the standing pole
top loaded with the hot juice
my hard hat fell into the hole
if that kid we were working with had not
have yelled my head would have popped
like a juicy watermelon!
if I hadnt just dropped
if it had of come in lower
if I had of stood up
had of

anyway
I love this poem.
Joe U are a poet
and damn good one

I got pushed by people
I pushed
so human
and then ultimately
there it is
like a subway call
flatbush
central park
flushings
schamehorn street
Heaven
Hell
next stop

sure glad U write poetry
and to have come on the
run with U

Mr Wolf!

Thank you, Steven. You read me well and see what I see. n

Wish you well. I liked the honesty in this poem. Some people see it as a betrayal, I supposed. Some people accepted it as part of life. Good one.

Yes, it is the circle of life.

vomit out as much poetry as you wish to
ur words are like nectar
coming out from a place
from some one
outtta this space
no one can with you race
so keep your steady pace
we will continue to
your footprints trace
