Orange soda
rings on a caramel
leather dash
Odometer gives it up
as one fifty eight K
Barely broke in
Florida car
rooftop gunwale
rot
this Interstate cruiser
hauling north
the rainslap wipers
throwing off a hurricanes
efforts
slow drip on drivers door
but keeps dry the iron
beneath the six way
electric seat

Drone upward
destination
Bronx
WNYU
sliders
the lights
on throughway
curves
easing among
the mountains
racing the pace
with snub nosed
cab overs
hauling trains

past smouldering
wrecks and troopers
with flares

Just another day
in paradise
pushing the pedal
in deck shoes
and chain smoking
Montecristos
easing the Delta 88
in a garage
near Bedford Park
