MELODIES

MELODIES

I hear music, soft and sweet,
voices shedding lost tears.
flowing like a mist into my heart
and tearing my soul apart.
melodies of forsaken days
come crashing in stealing
me away from Time
to wander in streams of yesterday.
my heart sickens with longing
to be as I was then

I feel in this often of late the tale
digging in an living a good life
even as good as it is
but knowing..this was taken
or that was given over
knowing even better or more
to avoid becoming them
and in the end becoming
more like them then they
an oxymoron
and throughout all
the joy...
leaking like wind in the tyre
out

and I walk...crawl
my humility
my ego
been different
to say the least

the frustration
I relate too
the loss Joe
and the rage
for me it was
attention
but I couldnt
get game
like the hucksters
could..
and what turns
their crank is
simplicity beyond
bored
me I still love
trinkets
and nice things
after almost getting
smushed by cars
buses...trucks
Im on the extended
version
like FM

like a movie you wonder
about just sitting about
while the credits roll
and the music

ur work too me is always
touching
its grief that I cant
express
is here

your work tells it like it
is
and sometimes it
is damned horrible
which is why I like your
poetry and U as a friend

thank U

I've never been subtle, Steven: simple, clear and straightforward; that is where the truth lies. And I have never been mean with my words...at least most of the time :)

A good write as usual, this means more today as yesterday I visited my 40 year old nephew in hospital, he suddenly came down with Sepsis of some sort and leukaemia, just before Xmas.
There he is on a machine and they still don't know what the virus is and this must go before they can treat his leukaemia.
His prognosis is 20% survival at the moment and he is fighting to be as he was.
Joe just write as you do and not to worry about later it is too much of a worry.
Yours as always, Ian..

It disturbs me that a man so young is stricken with a possibly terminal disease. What chance to experience the fullness of life? And his suffering and the suffering of those who love him is a tragedy.

Simon,
Passed to the other side today around 2pm, he was much too weak to fight anymore.
We are devastated,
My sister is going through hell.
Will talk later when we are once again settled.
You take care Joe and live each day as they are precious times for us,
Yours as always Ian..

so human...
the old expression
to beat a dead horse!
like that movie Runwaway train with John Voight
the female actor says "Your and animal"
and he says..."Worse..Human"

many I knew youthful go
always said make it to birth to eighteen
and there are the odds
twenty to forty...
fifty etc..
odds and ratios

great comments
hope the young man makes it
and for the rest of us....
we make it as we do
steady as we go...

one day..one hour..
on minute...

my old lady hollering down
the stairs
"comn steven I want that done
today and cleaned up"
painting the hallway upper
level...
burgundy paint on white
these girls get what they
want!!

gotta run
Over and out for moment!

Esker!
