In The Field

outside,
fresh snow

yesterday's footprints
are forgiven in white

I hesitate to
leave the house -

to disrupt the
new and pure
seems
unpardonable

but once
alone
in the field

I am joy.

Beautiful Poem L! Love the "Yesterday's footprints are forgiven in white" line - good stuff!

Best

Michael Anthony

Fresh snow is so inviting, but I hate to make tracks on the bare canvas - until I get out in it. Then it is pure joy!

I can only say, with smile on my face, that I agree with Michael! Nice job.

How I used to feel when I was younger but not now. Lovely to look at but as I grow more ancient look at it is all I want to do. Not that we get much here, no real falls since 2010. But your words certainly bring back pleasant memories. Alex.

It is beautiful, but I understand the unpleasantness it brings when driving in it and getting out and about. I love walking in the snow, though, especially away from the distractions of houses and streets. A lovely, quiet connection.
Thank you for reading!
