Running dark against the grey
the linen of her trench
as dark as the mourners
along the graves
the oil of the old miners lamps
worn dull by the rains
Mouth set..heart brave

Eyes the color of the stones
in the glacial lake
mute soft the pupil
large like a lame
knib bleeding india
ink
a blue green
against the tiger
shade
of the long hair
from her crown
her tall head

Violets Lipstick Rose

trailing through the
village
on the rail
her lambskin gloves
the bridges that
she loved

The german
steel kept sharp
as a lick
beneath the
brilliant eye
that kept a tic
like a secret
watch
in moleskin
purse
with a purple
braid
from a violent
trade

living from
a suitcase
Blanche
and a single
golden signet
ring
on the third finger
healed with
a twinge

A Canadien Poet

of a high class

only you be

Otis
Reading...been busy..busy..tired..
no sleep...hauling my carcass on
the pink girls bike about town
slush and snow...slipping
swerving bumping...
My back feels like a big ache
age...the unhealed broken
clavicle like somethings gnawing
on it.....Brains blank.
a dry spell

But Thank You for arriving all
these poems here!
I will go and read the many
of late that I Do read
of yours here...

I think I will be crashing into
dreamland though shortly

Canada....a different place
this is indeed for I have seen
the states in my days....
Michigan in 1976...Even in
sault Michigan...a fancy
place called ANTLERS
Thunderbay in 1985
and north trip with
my Pa..1983...

Then west...Banf...Lethbridge
through Seattle outskirts
to Idaho..a little town near
potlach and Moscow..
then back to the Olympic
Pennisula for a few days
camping....Then across through
Jellystone park...and out of
there across the flatlands of
the great broad Americas
Cincinatti...night and day in
a window van in summer..
FM radio playing the greats..
captian chairs..eight track
and packs of american
cigarettes and RAINIER
BEER...Marlboro for me!!
swam in the pacific...
cold..beautiful
driftwood fires in the evening
as the sun crowned Mt Rainer
and Sitka Spruce...Washington
Forests...so so beautiful
And then..Jamaica one winter
my mom and step dad took
my sis and brother..bros in law
we were on the north side
a beautiful two story cottage
and two porters..two jamaicans
who were bringing artisans
to our door....We shared our
Pepsi Cola with them...very nice
chaps....One articulate fellow
wore black pants ...white shirt
prolli a school uniform...and
his black umbrella to keep the
sun away...We took a bus tour
to Kingston..Up this twisty
mountian path...down past
the old bauxite mines into
Kingston proper...afernoon
we stopped at a Burger King
just opened..The bus was
chinese..brand new piloted
by a young man and a
young woman on the
microphone and speaker..
a mixture of old grannies
and new money couples
about fifteen....My step
dad bought the bus
driver and young
tour lady a burger fries
and cola....He is a nice
man my step dad...
Back to america trip
Kentucy...then north..
On my own.
Niagra..and with
a friend way out
to the east coast in
1978
and return to Rimouski
Quebec this spring in
camper...with king sheperd
guard dog..buddy!

and Years ago on bus
to Cochrane and north
via mixed train to
Moosenee...fifteen
miles from James Bay!
Been to quebec city
and Montreal in past
too....North Tonawanda
..a lot of travelling
compared to some!

And I Lived in a tent for
a time...and in a car
and a nice old house
with no water
two places...
we hauled water both
places and there
was a woodstove
...so quiet with no hydro
just the wind in the trees
rain and wind..insects
and birds to provide
music....

blah blah boring blah...

Thank U!
