Sail Away...[Stretching Wings, Morphing exercise]

Air too thick to breathe
Changing skies alter the view
Squirrels chatter hide hide

Too long in the sun, says she
Why don't you come inside?
No, I'll just lie in the yard
Contemplating clouds and imagination

Dark glasses and darker drinks
Captain Morgan sweating root-beer
Slippery grip spilling icy drops
A little feeling of cheer

Eyes shaded by a blocking hand
Sipping straw gives cooling brew
I think I'm very far from land
When I hear the Captain's crew

Stretching wings workshop (final exercise)

with her belly full
she breathes the balm of pleasance
-the cicada sings

----------------------

lazy squirrels
or just tired, perhaps
Stomp! the acorn pops!
goodly oak in white or red
the wines of summer's thoughts?

where are the wild boar?
munchingcrunchinggrunting

canals idle through
spears that guarded
eggs that swim the shallows
all plump, like boiled wieners
on a stick, yet!
they too will pop
come frost. hahaa!

NOT OF THIS WORLD (workshop final exercise)

Warm sun unnoticed
bathes me on this sylvan hill
as my mind wanders

here I am
Standing and ignoring you
it seems.
For I'm in my mind
elsewhere with my muse.

Maybe you see me looking up
watching contrails or geese
with an inaudible sigh.
Give me some tolerance please

Does it seem I only visit here
occasionally at random?
I'm checking on those whom I hold dear
and trying to write a poem or two.

Not Of This World (morphing version for shop)

There I am
Standing here ignoring you
it seems.
For I'm in my mind
elsewhere with my muse.

Maybe you see me looking up
watching contrails or geese
with an inaudible sigh.
Give me some tolerance please

Does it seem I only visit here
occasionally at random?
I'm checking on those whom I hold dear
and try to write a poem or two.

Beyond these trails is my true home
where trees are tall and hills are steep,
the places where the wild things live
not among the human sheep.

Stretching wings workshop (morphing exercise)

The marriage of Oeagrus

sandal dust rose
in the overcast affliction
of midday
I was reaching for rain
when
horizon born Calliope
touching clouds like a spear
appeared
her lustrous beauty
in an instance of blinding fire
ate my nakedness

approaching
but then again
a vision of the wind in flux

Oh, save me

the lamb of subjection covered me
the smell of ancient dust
and steel mixed with blood
I begged her eyes
my life force gushed

Stumbling Blocks... [Stretching Wings Workshop]

Come with us
Let's play
"I'm tired"

Breathing harder
little things
like oxygen

Left alone
worn out with excess
Watching from the side-lines

Days of working out
to days of out of working
and not keeping up,
Empty wallet and soul

It's okay, he convinces himself
"I'm still important"
but it weighs on him
and makes him feel alone

Hop-toads... [Haiku for Stretching wings workshop]

Hoppy-toads, old frogs
Swim forever in their youth
Ignorance is bliss
.

Rhyme for Stretching Wings Workshop.
.

Born To Be Wild
I float upon stormy seas
Forever in my youth
Can't bring me to my knees

I'll ride the blustered winds
All my care-free days
Don't think of me a fool
I won't ever change my ways

I'll tame the ways of age
Figure out the road
Keep on jumping all around
Like Spring's hoppy-toad

upstairs roost for rent
mucous included, no floor
please mind shoes below

Here is the original rhyming poem.
