weeping willow

Early on
a misty morning
I hear
a lonesome cry .
For twas
a weeping willow
torn with
in it’s eyes.
I whistled
“ what’s the matter”
And this was
His reply.

“For I’m
a winter willow
my mind
weighed in woe .
For I have
to face
the future
But I’m
too afraid to go .”

Last few words:
I used the rhythm or my inspiration for this was the song Kevin Barry sang by Tracy Newman.

Food for thought, Edward,

If you take the time to read a poem then take the time to let the author know you were there. Study it and form an opinion as well, even if it means going back to it more than once. That is basic critique, what Neopoet is all about.
