Leap Year

Today I took a leap --

I jumped over the fence
It really made no sense

I vaulted over fire
(I wish I'd vaulted higher!)

I sprang into the pond
I failed to spring beyond

I bound across the field
Broke up the farmer's yield

I skipped over a crack
Of course, I threw my back

I hopped into my bed
To ease my dizzy head

No more leaping for me, I fear
Even if it is a leaping year

LOL! sort of an ode to that pesky happening once every four years! nice rhyming! My favorite lines are:

I skipped over a crack
Of course, I threw my back

Hi Lavender.

Well, that was a fun read. Every line could have been talking about me.
Thanks! - Will

My leaping days are no more - at least not too high, and not too far!
Thank you for reading!

Yep, I think leaping is mandatory this year, so be careful!
