October in Wisconsin

OCTOBER IN WISCONSIN
When I ponder on October I think of certain hues,
Yellow, reds, and oranges, and even greens and blues.

What contrasts lie in forests, with its larger slew of trees,
When we take the time to wonder, our senses they may please.

But when we know that many will soon appear dry bones,
It seems a sad intrusion, which causes greatest moans.

Yet, we know our Maker, when flowers do appear,
He brings us spring and summer at another time of year.

Winter may bring dry bones, and dull our senses down,
But it causes new beginnings, as next season comes around.

A greeting card greeting!
Nice little poem that makes one think.
The language is fine, the beginning and the flow
make a consistent little thought for the day.
A reminder that seasons come and go with regularity
and we can always count on Mother Nature.

Nice little gallop through my psyche. I suffer from
Seasonal affect disorder. I’m starting to feel it buildup. It gets bad after Christmas.

I think this is a very well written poem. Dry bones is a good analogy.

Thanks. Yes I though dry bones might express my thoughts pretty well. The trees are not dead though, and we might see beauty in them even without leaves.

Good morning!
Seeing the beauty of nature with gratitude and facing change with optimism. Very lovely!
