Jub, Jube, Jubilee...

Jub, Jube, Jubilee

Good old britania she ruled the waves,
as her children worked or died in rags.
Sailors brought back all types of goods,
to fill or feed good old money bags.

The soldiers or sailors of the crown,
were always shown to be loyally brave.
But one couldn’t say no to her brutality,
you served or died, as a murdering knave..

Once on board they’d loot the world,
good sense to show more than willing.
Those lions that were led by lambs,
surely earned her royal mint shilling.

Back home were his loving wife and child,
who never knew how to live without want.
To die young was a blessing in this land,
for the rest, a diseased dirty body gaunt.

But above them lived her majestic lords,
who could dish out a sentence of worth.
Best be hanged in old britania’s fair land,
than to work and breed as a royal’s serf.

So you see we never really ruled at all,
we just paid for murder, rape or worse.
All in the name of her god never seen,
who can save us from this royal curse.

" I am not amused" said Queen Victoria when her lap dog pissed on her dress.

Now you know why, if a man of brown skin came up to me and said,
I shall kill you, I would have said go ahead, thinking of all the slavery etc
The Empire inflicted, all bad doings- patriotism is as bad as religion in
goading others to lord it over the less gifted.

Mass megalomania.

Not so sure about the poetry here and there, may look again at that aspect of it again.
Ann.

On looking up this word megalomania, in Wikepedia,
that I used from my head:-

A quotation by Bertand Russell gives his interpretation of megalomania: "The megalomaniac differs from the narcissist by the fact that he wishes to be powerful rather than charming, and seeks to be feared rather than loved. To this type belong many lunatics and most of the great men of history." (Alexander the Great!)

Russell's near-contemporary Sigmund Freud, freely used the same term in a comparable way. Referring with respect to an adult neurotic to 'the omnipotence which he ascribed to his thoughts and feelings', Freud reckoned that 'this belief is a frank acknowledgement of a relic of the old megalomania of infancy'.

Similarly Freud concluded that 'we can detect an element of megalomania in most other forms of paranoic disorder. We are justified in assuming that this megalomania is essentially of an infantile nature and that, as development proceeds, it is sacrificed to social considerations'.

...Unfortunately, 'a person with megalomania may not be interested in self-reflection or personal change', so the talking cures may be less effective than medication.

And this is fun:-
An additional complication with analysis is comprised by the transference: 'if the analyst has any tendencies toward megalomania or authoritarianism, the response of the patient to the analyst will strengthen them'

"The image of yourself which you see in a mirror Is dead,
but the reflection of the moon on water, lives." Kenzan.

Perhaps if more of us had disorders our leaders would have to work a little harder, or maybe a lot harder.I loved this reply and can't thank you enough for your time, and i'll wait and see if you have anything further to add. Love Roscoe..

"Rum and Buggery" Winston Churchill on the royal navy

without Englands need for timber Our railroads would
not have been build in places no railroad should exist
Like Algonquin Parks old line that Booth built in 1880's
Renfrew to Depot Harbour...He was very wealthy supplying
Britians timber need for ships masts etc

who would have introduced others to the sport of Cricket
or created a production for sugar cane through cheap slave
labour on islands full of unemployed in the day

Brittania ruled for awhile
then drew back

Im enjoying the comments by Ann
here Learning something not only about poetry
but of the great leaders who led
after all who remembers the tin smith
the weaver the farmers

humanity
poetry

funny things

Thank you, i've enjoyed your comments as well as Ann's. I now feel i must have a trek through some Canadian and Norwegian history to better understand my freinds. Regards Roscoe...
