GRATITUDE

Here I speak on gratitude
It's about being grateful and losing the attitude
What means so much to me
Being grateful is what's worth to look and see
I am thankful for so much
and just as such
Roof over my head
something as simple as a bed
Food in my belly
No one has to tell me
Gratefulness and gratitude for God
This is not a facade
Real gratitude that is not fake
Everyday I live through his sake
I know today and everyday I am blessed
To be the best I can be is the true test
What's not to be thankful
Lose sight of what you already have and you would only focus on what's painful
So I stop and think
Life can be as quick as a blink
Without gratitude for what you already are blessed with and have
Can put you down the wrong path
Leaving you lonely desperate and sad
Gratefulness for what I have
Stop blaming others, redirect my gratitude so I can be glad
Not hateful miserable and built up anger making me mad
Thank you God for everything I have
Helping me relieve the pain in my heart making me sad
Grateful for everything
I am, I am

to Neopoet. This has the ring of Rap to it. I see by your profile, that you are from California. I've been to a lot of places in the States, but have never made it that far. On my bucket list. Your poem is pretty good and I just have a couple criticisms. The tenth line should start with [No] instead of know and the proper spelling is facade, instead of fa sad. You seem to have the concept of near rhyme down and made good use of it. Nice job. Be sure to look around and get the feel of the rest of the site. and happy writing. As always, any advice you are given, is yours to accept and use or to ignore. This is your work. ~ Geezer.

Hello Brooks,
Thank you for taking the time to read my poem. I am new at doing poetry on a serious level. I had more poems that I had wrote but unfortunately I let someone borrow my phone and they erased a whole bunch of poems I had on there. So I am coming up with new ones and I am very grateful to be a part of your community, it means a lot to me. Thank you again

has been discontinued for the time being. However, feel free to call on me or anyone here on the site to help you and if we can't we can find someone who will. To join a workshop, go to the top of the page where it says workshop. Click on it and when you get the part that says: Find a workshop, click there and see which workshop you wish to join, by clicking on the part that says syllabus. That will tell you what the workshop is about and how to do the work. If you like the idea, find where to sign up and you are in. ~ Geezer.
