London

London. How do I measure you in my memories?
By the restaurants where I once sat and dined?
By the miles of streets I’ve walked busily and lazily?
Or by those I’ve met along the way that added to my life and shaped me from child to  adult, from wife to mother, to grandmother?

By my childhood loves I still love?
By the friends I’ve lost along the way?
By the parks that held my children’s joy and adventure
or the schools that formed their minds?
Or  my career that’s spanned you  and professions?

Do I measure the depth or the breadth?
Do I measure in seconds, hours,  days, weeks or decades?
How can you fit into the thimble of words
or the jumble of my  life?

At the end of the day I am me, my name and nothing more, but I hold so much pain, loss, love, aspiration, hope and most of all, love.. for my memories born in London.

In your...

addressing London directly, I feel the great joy that you feel.
The triumphs and winnings in the game of life have overshadowed the pain, loss,
and undertow on this planet.

That is evident in the way that you diminish yourself in saying:

At the end of the day I am me, my name and nothing more, but I hold so much pain, loss, love, aspiration, hope and most of all, love.. for my memories born in London.

I'm not sure of how you might make this better, except to look over the [Bys] there seem to be a couple more than you need, and the use of [busily and lazily] doesn't sit well in the line, but all-in-all, very well done, ~ Geezer.
