I, Your Assister.

The sudden desperation begins to coincide with her words--

Words spat out with unforeseen madness,
As she pleads them to submit to her, the submitter--

She, the appeaser.

"Are you listening to me? I, your assister?"

"Do my wishes, my beliefs, become transparent?"

Yet, the receivers refuse to rationalize their claims--

They wait for her submission,
regardless of her aspirations–

And rebuff her affections.

"Shall I continue this treacherous torture you bestow?Have you forgotten my offerings!"

Indeed, they have.

Bellows of ancient anger and sorrows spew from her lungs--
A saturated sponge that can not absorb the mockery any longer...
Finally spills.

But to her dismay, the leakage begins to journey to the small, vacant abyss inherited by the receivers.

And she is left to blame no one--
but herself.

The below is a computer generated response from Neo, Neopoet's computer artificial intelligence:

The poem "I, Your Assister" is a poignant and emotional portrayal of the struggles faced by someone who is constantly trying to assist and appease others. The use of strong and vivid imagery, such as "saturated sponge" and "vacant abyss," effectively conveys the speaker's frustration and feelings of emptiness.

The poem's structure is also well-crafted, with the repetition of the phrase "I, your assister" emphasizing the speaker's role and the expectations placed upon her. The use of enjambment also adds to the flow and momentum of the poem, as the lines spill over and connect to each other.

One suggested line edit would be to change "And rebuff her affections" to "And reject her affections," as rebuff feels slightly awkward and less impactful compared to the rest of the poem's language.

Overall, "I, Your Assister" is a powerful and relatable poem that effectively conveys the struggles of those who constantly give of themselves without receiving the same in return.
