finding death

Calm waves upon the coast line,
Strong wind pushing me along,
Higher than the city,
I stood on the cliffs,
Searching for death,
Searching beyond imaginable,
Death did not find me,
As much as it was craved,
Death felt the opposite way.

The way you personify Death in the last line is really unique. We usually think of Death as finding us, chasing us, always after us, and the one who will always win, no matter what (like in the Final Destination movies). But for once, Death feels the opposite!

I understand that for some folks, this may be a sensitive subject. However, as someone who has struggled with wishing to be dead, this poem definitely gives me something to keep in mind. Death doesn't want me yet; I don't need to search for it.

If I may make a small suggestion:

coast line --> coastline (one word)

Take care and thank you for sharing,
