COLD PLACES

COLD PLACES

This is a cold place
a cold and forbidding place
where words go to die
and those that survive
rarely are heard again
languishing in brief ecstasy
of a sedated after glow
hoping to rise once more
to the glory of validation
but the words begin to die
waiting in the limbo of
“the Undiscovered”
or, to save face
the shame of mediocrity
is thrown into an unmarked
grave named the “Unpublished”

oh this is like graffitti..our North Bay Ontario..(NOT washington states North Bay)
has it all over...and they the city quick cover it with thick brown paint...mostly stencils
then can tags...and some sharpie brilliant cartoon faces..mostly covered....
quick...so If you catch it before its gone....Now U see it Now its gone...! gems
that come and go so quick....Like letters to the editor....or stories in monthly
brilliant magazines...that unless U have a subscription too forget it....I had a subcription
to a brilliant mag called VENUE...but then it went to my ex's mailbox and I only got two..
I missed an excellent letter by one day to another old adress...the morsels gone...
how many wonderful movies got crappy ratings to become pulp and cult classics
the masses are asses...forget who said or sang that...nothing original

U write the greatest kick ass modern poetry about...
when ur pissed off

this is no exception...

thank u Joe!!
mr Esker!

and here
its now minus-ingly cold
candles are needed
to heat words of old
still embedded in snow

minus 10 to start with
will become 27 soon
I'm told

so I remain bold
when I was new
minus 35 I went into
came out all in blue
alcohol and hot coffee did they brew
but I wanted chicken stew
and
why they all had no clue
I was all inside my body blue
none knew
the blood also froze
how I survived heaven only knows
it could have been
what do they say blast me
yeah hypodermia could be

no, no hypothermia I suppose
I over dozed

I envy your fortitude,
'

Sir Joe

A great piece, you have found me, or where I appear to be in that desert of un-discovered on Neopoet published yet held in limbo awaiting the awareness of other poets.
Now find a pause where I have to take a breath and think "does it matter a damn".
Undiscovered on Neopoet, now makes me smile as I continue to write in many places as our loved has oft said.
Rejoice embrace the cold It is the Winter time here and keys are frozen, so that the cold hands cannot comment.
I now comment less, and join in less, as it is the way of this place, I shall wander in other fields, and one place in that future I shall watch from my cave at the torch bearers as they pass by,
Yours as always, Ian..

Give critique to help keep Neopoet great.
Unconditional love to you all.

Yours as always, Ian.T, Sparrow, and Yenti

I keep hoping the powers that be will once again institute putting the number of "hits" a poem gets. Uncommented does Not equate with unread. And in your case this is likely the source of your dismay.I suspect you are read much more than you realize.............stan

all
mostly...
I like to read Joe
you all know

broadcast....the five star rating....everyone got hung up on that one....so hollywood... indie which I believed this site too be....vimeo...more clever..more crafted....then U tube....

fm...send it out there....dispatchers.....U know there is an audience....rolling their eyes but soaking it up....radio silence like the bomber stream...listening to oboe...pigeons sending notes to rooftop too rooftop..packets like our internet here...

is there anybody out there?

yes....yes there is...we are here
and we read your work Joe
sometimes there is nothing to say
because u have said it
sometimes there is nothing too say
because of the honest and no bullshit
of the asking...
but we are here
and have been
reading.....

your audience!!

thank U!
