Bushmans final homecoming

the Nulla Nulla passed
in a delicate arch
this was the final throw
no prey or hunters fate awaits
at journeys end

end over end
as the battles before
or terrors that lay behind
fell away,
the Nulla Nulla
becomes one
with mother
again

as this warrior is beaten
with the dust of time,
and wearing
his shroud of birth
tribute is paid and offered
in a thousand thanks to Gaia

as a billion
points of sand
burn his feet
he relishes
his last walkabout,

merging into
a shimmering mirage
within the dreamtime,
the serpent
writhes in joyous welcome,
at his homecoming

Thought I had better explain

Thought I had better explain what a Nulla Nulla is lol NULLA NULLA The Nulla Nulla is one of the most deadly weapons, whether used at close quarters or thrown. The shape may vary between tribes but is usually between half to one metre in length and can be used as a club or throwing stick. The handle tapers to a sharp point near the handgrip, towards the other end the handle widens into a bulb. Like the Boomerang, a Nulla Nulla could light a fire using the same method of spinning it quickly with downward pressure in the surface crack of a dry log and a spark was made. Nulla Nulla was basically a throwing stick. love JayCee (Quote~~"It is by universal misunderstanding that all agree. For if, by ill luck, people understood each other, they would never agree. Oh WoW

What an awful weapon, I’ve never heard of it; and to think that a human being could use this on another. But then there are so many horrible ways we kill each other. Thank you for explaining JayCee otherwise I wouldn’t have anything to say except, very well written, which it is. But it means more than that now that I understand it completely. Brilllllliant. amazing

Loved it! I love hearing about the aboriginal culture. I saw a movie a few weeks ago about mixed race aborinial children who were placed in a camp to, I guess "civialize them" It was a story of two girls who run away from it and their journey home. It was fascinating. Great poem. elizabeth

A sliver of taste

Your life and the life of the earth there with you touches me through your words. The two sides of a weapon used for life and death. You have captured that taste beautifully. Best Wishes Seabhac
