"They know not what they do"
innumerable times
I placed my heart
at your feet
an offering
of peace
I watched as you toyed
with its inner mechanisms
but as a blind shielded
my eyes, I didn't see the
the glaring truth
until it was,
much too late
your heel ground
what little faith I had left,
into minute particles
of miracles, yet to be born
only God knows
my pride, and I
have fallen
but in the falling
I found my worth
and paid with
my pound of flesh
earning the right
to be whatever
I chose, infinitely
I stand by what I say
the words are mine
the thoughts my own,
I am never right
only ever just briefly
I may go to hell
and at the end of time
I may burn for my sins
but you?,
you have to face
Judgment Day
and being unmasked
in front of all of humanity
as a pious
heartless fraud
in my weaker moments
I have asked,
"May God forgive,
for you know not
what you've done"
but never again
